“When God untrains you” by Rev Essie Scott
October 31, 2021
Good Morning, Good Afternoon and/or Good Evening wherever you are. This is Rev Essie of New Birth Ministries and I am glad that you are listening today. I pray that your day is blessed and if it doesn’t seem to be going that way…..Bless it yourself! God lives in you, you are the new temple. He gave you His Power so use it! Today the topic is “When God un-trains you.” Get your Swords, a drink and a snack, and maybe a tablet and pen. We are praising the Lord today and everyday. Praise the Lord for he is worthy to be praised. God is still high on his throne we are still his children. God is still good and mornings are still wonderful. I bless each and every person that is on listening to this today. May your households be thoroughly blessed so much that you have to give some away in Jesus name. God is not a God of just enough he’s a God of more than enough. God said call unto me and I will show you great and mighty things which thy knowest not of. That is God’s phone number, use it. I would like to begin by looking up the word untrained. The definition of untrained is “not trained such as not made adept or expert by instruction or experience. Not taught by discipline to conform to certain behaviors. Not based on training or knowledge. As in inexpert.” To the untrained eye many wetlands can be deceiving. To the untrained eye fake diamonds seem to be real. To the untrained eye what you think is a good man or a good woman is not a good man or a good woman.
When you think about it in our lives we’re all raised and trained to do something. We were trained to eat, trained to walk, trained to talk, trained on how to use our words properly, trained to sit in our chairs as we listen to the teacher or the preacher and trained how to tie our shoes. The Bible says to everything there is the season, sometimes I want to say to everything there is a training. You were trained on how to date a girl or a boy. You were trained in home time study time and playtime. They even tell us to chew our food 21 times. Habits are formed after 21 days. After school training we go to college or more schools for more training. Some people are trained in the military and some people are trained in the arts. Some ministers were trained as how to preach and teach. Homiletics, philosophy, ecclesiological hermeneutics et. Some were trained rightly some were trained wrongly. Some were trained according to Jesus Christ and the New Testament and some were trained according to the Old Testament becoming a type of Sadducee or Pharisee with no message of freedom in Jesus Christ whatsoever. Most having a seared conscience as mentioned in 1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; while most people are trying to pay the bills, hold on to their marriage and understand why God allowed certain things to happen in their lives. Five thousand people followed Jesus out to the middle of nowhere and listened to his vision for their life. Most of us only have a few minutes every week and eternity is in the balance. The message about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, really is “the power of God unto salvation” (Rom. 1:16). The means by which God saves people, not just a message about God generically. More so than our series brand, or marketing ideas.
At the young age of 11, I learned to cook clean and scrub the floor empty garbage and cut grass. One lady that I stayed with stayed drunk all of the time and would never cook. Needless to say she is long ago deceased. The military money that I got from my deceased father was good enough but I wasn’t good enough to teach or cook for. That is when I trained myself on how to make sloppy Joe’s. I was about 11 years old when I learned how to put ground meat in the pan, cook it, then add ketchup. I ate sloppy Joe’s almost every day for about a year while she laid back in her bedroom drunk as usual. That was the start of my self-cooking training. Some people don’t understand why I put so many pictures of food on my Facebook page. This is why we can’t judge people because we never know their background. Maybe I’m just proud of the dish that I made myself.
When I was in the Marine Corps I was trained very very well. I was trained by a special team of the Texas Rangers. I don’t believe it was meant to be on record. I was trained so well that the outside world would see my actions as paranoia when in all actuality I am guarding my property and my family. I stood nightguard so much watching the rifles that I could hear the click of an animal outside walking through the forest. I was trained to hear the click of a gun or feet walking through the woods. I was trained to fight, shoot and say “halt who goes there”? My children sometimes crack jokes about me and they say that my favorite word is”disassemble”. If I suspect anything I will take something apart in a minute. Think about the training that you received all your life thus far. Just what is repetitious to you? Just what are you good at? What do you do over and over that you don’t need any more training for?
Since the laws of Moses and the 10 commandments, man has been taught to follow certain training on what to do and what not to do, how to talk where to go and when to act and don’t even flick a light switch on Shabbat because that’s work. The 10 Commandments and Deuteronomy 28 are prime examples of God training us on how to please him. That is also Old Testament and pre-Jesus. God sent Jesus because he knew that man would not be able to keep up with his Laws. If you miss when all you have to do is ask Jesus to forgive you and you will be free from sin Hell and death in the future. Jesus came to untrain us to set us free. I don’t understand what part of people don’t get. Some people just don’t want to bow down to him and worship him. Some people see themselves so high and lifted up that they can’t see Jesus high and lifted up. People grudgingly set their clocks to go to work for man but won’t go to church to listen to the Word and learn how to listen to Jesus to save their souls literally. The letter of the law is dead, the spirit of the letter is what brings life. It takes the Holy Spirit of God to open someone’s eyes to a false preacher. You can’t get freedom in Christ Jesus or by the Spirit of God by jumping around, working people’s emotions, trying to control the energy in a room with THAT voice, you know what I mean, that voice? Such things create false disciples. Counterfeit conversions. The gospel is where the power lies. To change lives. Every week. Without fail. Here is a failsafe way to break nasty habits and be untrained from the falsities of life. When you look at Deuteronomy chapter 28 it is literally a chapter of what to do and what not to do, how to get blessed and how to end up cursed. The very first 3 verses starts out like this:
Blessings for Obedience
Deu 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
Deu 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
Deu 28:3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
And then at Deuteronomy chapter 28 verse 15 the negative part starts that goes like this:
Curses for Disobedience
Deu 28:15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
Deu 28:16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
Deu 28:17 Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Deuteronomy chapter 28 is an excellent training for all mankind. It is impossible for someone to have attended a church and never learned Deuteronomy 28. If your preacher never explain Deuteronomy 28 to to you then you’ve been giving them the wrong attention, all of your money, and never learned a thing. And by the way did you ever get that new Church from the lifelong building fund? Some preachers have died and gone on and the church is still waiting for the new furnace or the new roof. For those who will say “Deuteronomy is the Old Testament!” My reply to you is that even Jesus studied the Torah. The Torah is made up of the first five books of the Bible sometimes called the Pentatuch and Jesus studied it. If Jesus studied it we should as well. We cannot overrule the first five books of our wonderful Bible. (Penta meaning five.) This is the word base where witches get the word “Pentagram.” (5 pointed star.) By the way I am not going to wish you a happy Holloween today I don’t Halloween. Specifically speaking Halloween and COVID are not needed together they’re both about death and people are losing a loved ones. I don’t have time to worship Satan or wear monster costumes. We should be ashamed of ourselves.
Now here’s a question that I have for you. What happens when God un-trains you? Are you ready to learn new and better ways of doing things? Are you ready to wake up 3 o’clock in the morning because Jesus wants to have a conversation with you? Will it disrupt your sleep? Are you ready to do things that you never thought you’d end up doing? In God’s word he said I will do a new thing. Isa 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. When God opens up your eyes and your heart begins to show you the truth about things, would you be willing to leave a church that you’ve been going to for years? Maybe a church that grandma and grandpa used to go to and your whole family went there for years. When God begins to give you revelation of his word nothing can withstand it. It will change you. God’s word will rearrange everything that you thought you knew about yourself and life. The things that you thought were so great were not that great after all. There are going to be a lot of people who are going to find out that serving God has nothing to do with climbing the corporate ladder at work. God does not have a dog-eat-dog system. In God’s heavenly system there is no reason to step on someone’s fingers as you’re attempting to climb in wisdom, in power, and victory with the blood of Jesus. Thank you Jesus for saving our fingers. Everything that you were taught down here on earth you cannot use in God’s heavenly system. That’s why he reinforced us with his Holy Spirit who is our teacher and our guide. We cannot continue in our flesh after learning God’s way. He told us to be holy and he meant it. God’s ways are so beautiful and deep that they will blow your mind. God has more words than the words that he gave us down here on earth. Jesse Duplantis went to heaven and he can’t even find the words to describe some of the things he heard and saw. In the book of Revelation God told John not to write everything so there’s somethings that we don’t know. We have our colleges, institutes, and libraries but that doesn’t mean that we have all of God’s Wisdom. The only way that you can get all wisdom is through God’s Holy Spirit only. He gave us a little of his wisdom and in order to have all of his wisdom you have to go through the Holy Spirit. He will freshen you and loosen you from all your worldly ways and help you to change. The Holy Spirit, Jesus’s blood, and Jesus’s name is the only way to be untrained.
Act 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
Let’s take a look at that word refreshing shall we?
Renew us to Immortal Life. What a time of refreshing when we see Jesus as he is and are changed perfectly into his likeness. This will be the restoration of all things, as the whole creation will be restored. The times of refreshing which are to come on this distracted world depend on the repentance and restoration of Israel. The Jew has the first offer of the gospel, as the child of the covenant; but its wide provisions lie open to us all, who by faith have become heirs of the promises made to Abraham. Christ begins His work of benediction for the soul by turning it away from iniquity. “Turn us, O Lord, and we shall be turned!”
The phrase “times of refreshing” occurs only in the New Testament, the noun “times” (kairoi) is used by Jesus. In Acts 1:7 refers to special areas of his Father’s authority in relation to restoring the kingdom to Israel and the responsibility of the disciples to witness in the power of the Holy Spirit to all peoples. The root meaning of refreshing (i.e., cool by blowing like the Holy Spirit did after Jesus blew on the disciples), when linked to the derived meaning of strengthening, can then be interpreted as a definitive age of salvation that comes as a result of repentance and the forgiveness of sins. This age, with its potential for change and renewal, is thus seen as a fulfillment of the promises of the prophets as to what will happen when people experience the presence of God, and a precursor of the final event when God makes all things new.
Peter, in his sermon, has just experienced the great refreshing of the former, or early, rain, and under the influence of the Spirit his mind is carried forward to the still greater refreshment of the latter rain and the second coming of Jesus. He exhorts his hearers to repent unto the blotting out of their sins, that seasons of refreshing may come, that He may send Jesus.
There is an inseparable relationship between repentance, the blotting out of sins, the investigative judgment, the times of refreshing and the coming of Jesus. The times of refreshing begin at repentance and culminate in the coming of Jesus. It is the refreshing (untraining) that comes at all times on repentance. The same way that man says “pardon me” I ask God to forgive me when I feel that I need to be forgiven. Let’s not go to bed with any sin on our hands. Let us work hard at not having anything come between us and the Savior. Let us do whatever we can do to be ready for whenever he comes back. Let us eradicate any schisms or isms or anything that we learned from the world that is not needed in our spiritual lives. Going to you right now. He wants to untrain your eyes from the television, the phone, and the computer. He wants to untrain you from taking sleeping pills and sleeping medication that stops him from contacting you in the middle of the night. God wants to untrain you from getting aroused so easily when you see something or someone that is not your mate. God wants to untrain your thoughts for thinking about bouncing checks every time a bill is due. God wants to untrain you from hating those that hate you. Jesus died for them to, they are souls. God wants to untrain you for fearing him so much in those Ichabod churches that you don’t even know how to pray to him now. He wants to begin to have a conversation with you. He wants you to know that is him when you hear his voice. He want you to set everything aside whenever you hear the first whisper of his voice. He want you to start all over in his school of righteousness so that you will know right from wrong. He wants to wipe away your frown and give you a garment of praise. Sing to the Lord a New Song
Psa 149:1 Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
Psa 149:2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
Psa 149:3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
Psa 149:4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
Psa 149:5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
Psa 149:6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;
Psa 149:7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
Psa 149:8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
Psa 149:9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.
Are you saved? Now is the time to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. With all that is going on around the world, you need a friend. Jesus can be that special friend if you allow Him into your life. He is your helper and His Holy Spirit is your Comforter.
If you are not saved, just repeat the Romans Road after me: Say “Jesus, I repent of my sins, I am so sorry Lord. I believe that you died on the cross and rose 3 days later from the dead, just for me and I accept what you have done, I accept you as my Savior. Thank you Jesus, amen.” Now go find a bible believing, Holy Ghost filled church and learn of Him, it’s never too late. Your new life starts now. All old things are gone away. God throws them as far as the East if from the West. Now….go live, laugh and love!
Num 6:24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
Num 6:25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
Num 6:26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
Num 6:27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.
Thank you for coming on today and I pray that your week goes by Victoriously!
