Praying for Entertainers: A Call to Action

Last night I had a dream that was so real. I dreamed that I entered a house or office of some kind and there were a few others there rummaging (?) through this place. There were office drawers full of papers, contracts, etc. I found a box that interested me and I picked up some of the papers and other things that were in it. Not only were there papers but there were old 45’s of Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones. I believe that I saw 45’s of the Beatles as well. It was as though he (or someone) passed away or something and I was a part of the clean up crew to clean their house or office.

In my Rock n Roll days (an eon ago,) I liked the Stones as I was the Lead Singer of a Country Rock band named Sundown and we did a few of their songs. I am glad that I am out of the provocative worldly music industry. I know, hard to believe but everyone has a past. Singing Rock and Soul as well was mine. I guess you can say that I was performing instead of praising. (Some Christians still do.) Our name was written all over the marquees of Washington County, Washington, PA. My voice varied, I sang low keys and/or high keys. I did males leads and female leads but still remained girly and preppy with my skinny ties and (then) “little” jackets on. The band was my family. I’ve now dedicated my voice to praising and worshiping the Lord and I enjoy it.

It is my hope that you praying people out there would pray for entertainers out there in the world and some may even be saved? We don’t know. Yes, they may have had rough and rowdy pasts but who is perfect? They also, after all these years of entertaining people, may have accepted the Lord. With that industry, there may even be some who are praying that someone cares and will pray for their souls. In those days, I wish I had someone who prayed for me. God and my band kept me safe. They were actually like big brothers to me. Nothing sexual or provocative, just raw talent. And yes, I got into places that were not known to be so friendly to black people at that time. What can I say? They loved us. And I loved them.
