Necromancy: The practice of communication with the dead. The bible considers it as “Sorcery” as with King Saul asking the Witch of Endor to bring back a deceased Samuel the Prophet.

Deuteronomy 18:10-13…”There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, (as with the Long Island Medium or the recently deceased Sylvia Brown), or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.”

The Random House dictionary says that divination is an attempt to foretell events or discover knowledge by occult or supernatural means. Perception by intuition.
Ex: Esp, crystal balls, ouija boards, tarot cards. See Isaiah 8:19 also.
The practice of necromancy entails a Greek word called “darash” which means to follow, pursuit, search, seek, or ask, to worship, care for, diligently inquire, question, require, or crying to the dead, inquisition.
Ecclesiastes 9:5…”the dead know not anything.”
Ecclesiastes 9:10..whatever you do, do it, cause there is no work, nor knowledge nor wisdom in the grave.
Psalm 115:17..”the dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.”
Psalm 88:10…”wilt thou show wonders to the dead?”
Ecclesiastes 4:2…”I praised the dead which are already dead, more than the living which are yet alive.” (Speaks of weariness of life, 1695 in Thompson Chain reference bible. See Jonah’s concern about a dead gourd more than the city of Ninevah. Jonah 4:9-11.)
Matthew 22:32..”God is not the God of the dead but of the living.”
John 5:25 “dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God and live.”
Romans 14:9…”Christ Lord of both..(must go through Jesus.)
1 Thessalonians 4:16…”dead in Christ shall rise first.”
Rev. 20:5…rest of dead lived not again until 1000 years were finished.
Rev. 20:12…judgement of the dead.
Hades, (Greek), the abode of the dead.
Luke 16:23-31…torment in hell, something between heaven and hell, happiness or torment. God is not going to send someone from the dead to teach you what the living prophets should and would teach you!
Acts 17:16-34…idoltry…inscription “to the unknown god”…
The Godhead (Trinity) is not like gold, silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device..and God commands these men to repent…
Jesus is the King of the Saints as in Rev. 15:3…call upon Him and Him only! Do not do as in Job 5:1, and call upon all but Jesus.
Rev. 20:12..for the small and great ones will be judged. Those in the pew and those in pulpits.

Genesis 44:5, 7, 15 only Joseph could divine…God’s gift.
Numbers 22:7…earthly reward of divination, (notice, not heavenly reward.)
Deu. 18:14..sinning nations were superstitious and diviners.
1 Sam 6:2..Godly diviners, nothing about them raising dead-only consulter.
Jere. 27:9..God warns not to pay attention to diviners and enchanters.
Eze. 13:23..King of Babylon used divination and consulted with images which were false gods, (the teraphim.)
Zech 10:2…divinators seen lies and told false dreams and scattered sheep, no shepherd.
Acts 16:16..damsel possessed of evil spirit of divination met Paul and Silas.
THERE IS ONLY ONE MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD AND MAN…JESUS!
