Act 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Act 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Act 4:24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
Act 5:12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.
Php 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Php 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
I have re-written the above scriptures that speak of being on one accord. This is how the Christian life should be. We should be on one accord with one another. If you notice by reading the scriptures above miracles happened when all were on one accord. If any entity or group of people are
going to be successful, they must learn to be all on one accord. This means that our timing must be sharp according to the holy spirit of God and our own. Not doing things in unity or thinking in unity causes confusion and every evil work. Being on one accord means flowing in the spirit of God. In Acts: 1:14, according to the scripture they were not prejudiced toward women. There is no prejudice, hate or personal vendettas. That is the spirit of unity. From Acts chapter 2:1 to Acts chapter 2:4 even pentecost came once they were on one accord. This means that God acted upon their unity. There weren’t any jealousies, prejudices, meanness, or dis-cord amongst the brethren. Everything that they felt and did they did in one another’s site. Nothing was hidden, nothing was personal or private. God operates best that way. He loves for us to be see through, translucent, transparent. God is the only one to hold secrets and he is also the revealer of secrets. Nothing is hidden from Him. They broke bread together from house to house and even ate meals together in unity.
Acts 5:12 even tells us that many signs and wonders came about on Solomon’s porch because of unity, togetherness and love. If we want to see signs and miracles today we need unity. You can tell when someone is not in the flow because their timing is off which causes a flaw in the flow from the rest of the body which is a sign that they are operating on their own time and not God’s. There is an old song called, “No man is an island, no man stands alone.” What is a body with no head and what is a head with no body?
We are told to fulfill our joy and be like minded by being on one accord. This is very important. For those who have been experiencing deep depression, detachment, or loneliness, could it be that you are not on one accord? Blend in more, show that you are interested in God’s Kingdom!
God bless,
