Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Valentines Day! ~ Don’t sweat the little OR big things in life.

Let me start this beautiful day out by wishing you all a Happy and Blessed Valentine’s Day and many more!

Let’s open with Prayer and then take a look at Jeremiah 12:Chapter 1 (PRAY)

Jeremiah’s Complaint ( We all have some sort of complaint to God on various occasions don’t we?)

Jer 12:1  Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?

HERE, Jeremiah is giving God honor and glory for His judgments but as you can see, he wanted to talk to God about things that he didn’t understand about them. In our language it’d be “Hold up Lord, I need you to explain this to me.” WHY WHY WHY? (Like a little kid right?) Don’t we all have a time every now and then like that? Where you just have to ask God “What’s up with this mess Lord? I can’t take this anymore. Why does it seem that the evil ones do better than I do? Why do they have houses, cars and land and I am counting change for the bus every morning? Why are their children accepted at awesome colleges and I can’t even buy books for mine at a lesser college? Why do good people die so young, and evil, nasty, sinful people live so long that they brag about drinking alcohol, eating chocolate daily, or and some other crutch kept them going throughout the years?

Jer 12:2  Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins (mind.) ~ Jeremiah is telling God how the evil people surrounding him take strong root with their false professions, speaking about God and calling themselves representing Him through their mouths but not with their hearts and minds. They are “do what I say but not what I do” people. They are like the preachers in the pulpit who get drunk or engages in porn after church is over.

Let’s take a look at the previous chapter, 11:12 and 13:

Jer 11:9  And the LORD said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem. Conspiracy: a secret plan by a group to do something harmful or unlawful.

Jer 11:10  They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

Jer 11:11  Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them. THEY WILL GET THEIR PAYBACK! HOLD ON LOVED ONES. TRUST GOD.

Jer 11:12  Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.

Jer 11:13  For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal.   (We now have the Altar of Baal in New York City placed there by our leaders in government.)

Jer 11:14  Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.

Jer 12:3  But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

Jeremiah is telling the Lord, “You know me Lord and have tested my heart.” It is safe to assume that Jeremiah passed his tests just as we should. Keep your mind stayed on Jesus Christ. Preach Him, teach about Him, concentrate on Him, talk to Him, testify about His goodness….everywhere. Don’t be ashamed because God said in various ways that if we are ashamed of Him, He will be ashamed of us.

Jer 12:4  How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.

THE MAIN SCRIPTURE THAT I WANT TO EXPOUND UPON:

The Lord Answers Jeremiah

Jer 12:5  If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

God is telling Jeremiah and is still telling us today through this written Word that if we are complaining about the small things, how can we conquer the larger problems in life. God is saying to us, “Don’t sweat the small stuff.” And now that Jesus has come, gone and about to come again, we need not sweat the big stuff either. He gave us prayer, tongues via the Holy Spirit, His name, His power, why are we still complaining???

Jer 12:6  For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee. (Even our family may talk about us from time to time and dirty our reputation but we have to “not stop” our work for the Kingdom and continue in the strength and power of the Holy Ghost.) As an example, I had a relative who used to record on his telephone, what my children and I would talk about in the privacy of our home and then he would take it to others and let them listen. That’s when the new cellphones came out and he was good at using one and showing off its properties. We didn’t know much about them at that time. He would start the conversation in a negative way and record how we would answer him. He even talked about his own loved ones and friends just to get us started. Well, with me being the truth-teller that I am, I would answer him according to what the Bible said about the situations. People don’t like to hear the truth. One thing I can say is that “I never lied!” That one young man turned a lot of people against my family over his actions. Be careful of your friends phones folks. If any lights are flashing, like the radio interviewer always says, ‘You’re on!” ~ He doesn’t know it but we knew of his shenanigans for years and just didn’t say anything about it. You can’t tell everything you know right? We kept that to ourselves. I actually allowed the Word of God to preach to those who listened 2nd hand to my voice. *Wisdom. I never said anything that wasn’t the truth anyway so….  Sometimes you have to use whatever platform God allows to open to you to preach the Word, in season, out of season, reprove, correct. And that was certainly an out of season time in the life of my little household but we got ‘er done. We learned not to sweat the small stuff. That was actually a lesson for us to learn about watching our words. People will try to set you up with your wording just like they did Jesus in:

Mar 12:13  And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.

Luk 11:54  Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.

Jumping to :

Jer 12:10  Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness. (The church today…taking crosses off of their church to “fit in” with the world as not to offend anybody, allowing their praise and worship teams to sing the same music that the world sings and plays, etc.) Devil worship has entered the church y’all. It’s entertainment not worship.

Jer 12:11  They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.

Jer 12:12  The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.

Jer 12:13  They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

Jer 12:14  Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.

Jer 12:15  And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.

Jer 12:16  And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.

Jer 12:17  But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD.

To end, DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF! Endure and stay in prayer, praise and worship mode and God will fight your battles. Don’t try to pick anything up on your own. Let the Lord be your total overseer, He knows what you need. We say that a portion of God’s Holy Spirit lives in us but do we really trust His guidance? Listen, slow down, don’t fret, trust and believe, and God will handle your business, amen?

Are you saved?

Are you saved? Now is the time to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. With all that is going on around the world, you need a friend. Jesus can be that special friend if you allow Him into your life. He is your helper and His Holy Spirit is your Comforter.

If you are not saved, just repeat the Romans Road after me: Say “Jesus, I repent of my sins, I am so sorry Lord. I believe that you died on the cross and rose 3 days later from the dead, just for me and I accept what you have done, I accept you as my Savior. Thank you Jesus, amen.” Now go find a bible believing, Holy Ghost filled church and learn of Him, it’s never too late. Your new life starts now. All old things are gone away. God throws them as far as the East if from the West. Now….go live, laugh and love!

Num 6:24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

Num 6:25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

Num 6:26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Thank you for coming on today and I pray that your week goes by Victoriously!

Rev Essie signing off! God bless and have a great day!
