We are to pray for our leadership (#President)

I am shocked at the amounts of people who are refusing to give to ministries who pray for our President. As I sit here watching #LifeToday, listening to James and Betty Robison asking people not to stop giving because they pray for #DonaldTrump, it almost makes me want to cry. They are in their mid 70’s and have done more in their ministry than a lot of us can claim in our own.

Personally I feel that our #President has done some good, some bad. Only Jesus was perfect. Are we? Jesus tells us to pray for our enemies. If you hate your leader (country, church, preacher, school, job,) PRAY and don’t complain! And surely you don’t want to be kicked off of all of these social platforms for voicing your own opinion right?  Freedom of Speech is slowly slipping down the drain.

All throughout the bible we see what happened to #Israel when they complained (about Moses, David, etc.) They got mad at Moses over his wife being black (ok, to the Politically Correct folks, “of the dark skinned race”.) They wanted at one point to kill King David and allow his son to take his place. These things are still happening today. There is no better leader than Jesus. When you hear your leader trying to go by the Word of God, pray that his efforts are rewarded and that it is not a fake attempt to remain in leadership. Only God knows the truth.

I can speak these things without fear because God always backs me up when I speak ‘Word’ and also, there is no financial fear with my ministry. I don’t have many who help me in that way and the few who do love and trust me enough to speak on life’s issues are not complaining people. May the Lord bless them mightily for being there for me. A wise old man, Mr. Spencer Taylor of Hendersonville, Pa., (may he rest in peace) once told me in my church, “Esther, you can preach! You just don’t have any support!” I will never forget that. I can’t explain why the support is so low but one thing I know, God’s got my back. I pray for my supporters as though they are my best friends. Jesus said he no longer calls us “servants” but friends. They ARE my friends. No money doesn’t buy me but it surely helps me keep this computer, cooling, light, internet, furnace, and Radio Station on.  I hope I don’t get on their nerves because I just simply appreciate them. (Love you guys.) I bless God for those who do financially support me. I am not collegiate, and I wish that I could speak like T.D. Jakes and Joyce Meyer but I can’t. I am just plain ‘ol Essie. I like it that way. Much to the enemy’s chagrin….I love me.

I do not qualify educationally to know what it is like to run a country but I do know that it has to be hard especially sitting under people where some use you as a human pen to pass their “messes” so that you can get the blame for it. Not all but some anyway. God wants us to use Wisdom and Understanding to see what is happening around us. Leaders have to do what is right for the people. It doesn’t always go that way. The bible tells us about the connection between leadership and the people in Proverbs.
Pro 29:2  When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
This is not only for the “one in the hot seat” but the ones who he/she rules with.

You know it’s a sad time when the people refuse to pray for their Leaders, including, Presidents, Courts, Magistrates, Policemen, Teachers, Preachers, etc. Yes, there may be wickedness in High Places but the fat lady didn’t sing yet. It’s not over. We must assume our position spiritually and pray. Prayer works.

I end with this scripture,

The Whole Armor of God

Eph 6:10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Eph 6:11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Eph 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Eph 6:13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph 6:18  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Eph 6:19  And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Eph 6:20  For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
