What is thankfulness? ย To appreciate and express gratitude toward someone or something. ย A consciousness of a benefit received. ย Letโs explore some of Godโs wonderful scripture that will give us a better understanding of thankfulness:ย
1. ย Deu 8:10 ย When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.ย
a. ย Thankfulness requires the return of a blessing to the one that blessed you.ย
b. ย It is an all around good feeling about something that has happened in yourย
ย ย ย ย life, something given you or something achieved.ย
2. ย Psa 100:4 ย Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.ย
a. ย We are to enter into the gates of Godโs physical or spiritual dwelling, not withย
ย ย ย ย regretfulness or bitterness but with thanksgiving, knowing that if it werenโt forย
ย ย ย ย Him allowing us to wake up and breathe one more day, we would not be able.ย
b. ย We are to enter with praise. ย God dwells in the praises of His people.ย
c. ย We are told to be thankful to God and bless His name.You either bless or curseย
1. ย Whoโs side are you on?ย
3. ย Psa 107:22 ย And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.ย
a. ย What could possibly be the โ sacrifice of thanksgiving?โ What does it mean toย
ย ย ย ย you?ย
4. ย Col 1:12 ย Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:ย
a. ย What do you think the scripture means by โsaints in light?โ and, are you one?ย
b. ย Who is โthe Father?โ ย God is a ______God. ย The Father is part of the t_____ ย ย ย ย called the Holy T—— or G——. ย We must believe this for there IS another ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Jesus.ย
5. ย Col 3:15 ย And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.ย
a. ย We are called into one body with one head, the Godhead. ย (Three in one.) ย Twoย
ย ย ย ย ย heads make a monster. ย One Lord, one Faith, one baptism.ย
6. ย 1Th 5:18 ย In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.ย
a. ย This means thanking God for the good, the bad and the ugly. ย (Experiences.)ย
