No more Limitations on God

Don’t you wish that Christians would stop putting limitations on God. With God you don’t have to rub the bottle for the genie to come out or put a quarter in the slot to get your wish. Too many people are looking to God as a Huge Heavenly Wal-Mart.

We don’t get answers to our prayers simply because we refuse to honor fasting and praying the way that we should John 4:24 says that God is a Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. The truth is that we are too busy feeding our flesh and neglecting our spirit-man. Prayer, fasting and tongues gets the job done. Jesus even said so to His Disciples in Matthew 17:21. The only time some fast and pray is when an emergency happening. God only deserves that much out of you?
Everybody has a formula. Send in this to the ministry and you will be blessed! “Send $333.00 for Jeremiah 3:33 and watch God do a mighty work in your life!” “Send in $75.00 that’s a dollar for every year that The Church at the Cleft of the Rock has been open and your finances will increase!” Or this one, “Send $100.00 a year and watch a change happen in your life.”  I mean……really? Okay then, what about this lady?

I guess that she was a bum right? Rich men may have shunned her and walked or the other side of the street like they do us today. She couldn’t donate to the Pastor’s Fund, the Choir Fund, the Building Fund, Christmas, Resurrection Sunday or the Thanksgiving Turkey Fund. And she surely couldn’t have gotten all decked up for “Church Fashion Night” or the “Yearly Tea.” Lord forbid if she claimed to be called of God. Sit up in the pulpit with those clothes? She didn’t sing, play and instrument or mime but she got blessed. That’s right, no formula, no fashion, no Cadillac, no expensive perfume….but she got blessed. “How?” you say? Jesus mentioned her

Mark 12:41-44

41  And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.

42  And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.

43  And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:

44  For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

Having Jesus mention me as a good example is a Blessing enough for me.
Let’s stop putting Jesus beside our good-luck charms, necklaces, statues, or man-made altars and put Him back where He belongs….not as our “Co-Pilot” but our “Pilot”. He knows where to take us and where we should be. He knows all of our needs before we have need of them. Let go and let God. He’s bigger than our minds could EVER imagine. You don’t have to give that false “Pro-fit” on T.V. $500.00 for a bigger prophecy.  No more formulas.

P.S. And no, you won’t hit the lottery for giving. Stop waiting for it! Benefit the elderly by giving them a gift albeit food items, stationary items, or pay a bill for them or something. Cook them a meal or cut their grass.
