The Lord Is My Shepherd
Psa 23:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psa 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Psa 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Psa 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Psa 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Psa 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
God is totally awesome and is High and lifted up. He is the only one who truly cares for you. No one in this world will do for you what God (Jesus, the Son) has done. I love you but Jesus loves you more. He leads us beside still waters. That means that the current is still there but it is low and slow and allows us to experience peace while enjoying the water however we please as long as we stay in His Will. We can meditate there, clean ourselves there, swim, drink, rest there. There is no strong, death-causing currents as the waters that disturbed the boat that the disciples were on when they saw Jesus walking on the water. You don’t have to walk on the water filled with strong currents. When the strong currents do come as strong currents in life will, Jesus will be there to hold your hand and lift you up. Peter had faith, at least he tried. Jesus couldn’t have been far away because the Word says that Jesus reached ‘out’ (stretched forth His hand) and grabbed Peter’s hand.
Mat 14:25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
Mat 14:26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
Mat 14:27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
Mat 14:28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
Mat 14:29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
Mat 14:30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
Mat 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
Mat 14:32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
Mat 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Walk on the waters my friend. Jesus walks with you. You have the power within you to stay on top of the currents of life. He lives in you.
God bless you, amen.
