Riding in the 2nd Chariot
And yes, I know there is a book out there with the same name but I promise you that I didn’t get my notes from there. Any resemblance is purely coincidental.
Are you like Joseph, the Dreamer? Did God give you a dream that you are to manage to come to fruition but you are afraid that people will think that you are a know-it-all or crazy? When it comes to your dreams, there are two types of people in the world, those who celebrate with you and those who tolerate you. This message is for you. There are some of you out there who are listening who were given the talent of building, singing, writing poems, preaching, teaching, cooking, serving in the church, speaking, driving, helping others financially, and so forth, but are you allowing embarrassment and ridicule to stop you from preceding for fear of the proverbial “trying to be better than” syndrome. Let’s take a look at Joseph the Dreamer shall we?
{Genesis 37:1–11 & 41st chapter}
I. Joseph was hated by his brothers for being the Dreamer of the family. (Just like today.) 37:1-11
II They conspired to kill him. 37:18-19 “Behold the dreamer cometh.”
A. Mockery
B. Hatred
C. Jealousy
III. 37:23 They stripped Joseph’s multi-colored coat from him and threw him in a waterless pit. (Dry spell. You ever have a dry spell? God’s working on it.)
IV. Verse 27 They sell him to the Ismaeelites for a profit. (If people can make money out of you they will take the money over your presence. Your presence agitates the devils in them.)
A. Jealousy
V. When people get rid of the dreamer in their presence, they will lie to cover up their evil deeds.
A. They knew that they were wrong.
B. Darkness can never over rule the light. You can’t hide light. (Bury the seed and it will just grow.)
VI. 39:1 Joseph was brought to the Pharaoh in Egypt who bought him from the Israelites.
A. The Lord was with Joseph. (Anointing.)
B. He was a prosperous man in the house of his master. An Israelite in the house of their enemy, once again. Like Nehemiah the cup bearer.
1. Every time Israel sinned, they ended up in the hands of their enemies. Thank God for Jesus, we are covered by His forgiveness and blood.
Grace and Mercy follow us all the days of our lives.
2. No more capturing by the enemies unless we turn out backs on God.
VII. 39:7 Potiphar’s wife like him. Joseph was said to be a handsome man. She tempted him. (Enemy will attempt to throw us off of our path and out of Grace.
A. He is thrown in prison 39:19
VIII. Butler and Baker in prison had dreams and told them to Joseph. He interprets both good and bad and asks that they not forget him when they are released.
A. Deuteronomy 18:18 (4 books later) Do not forget God who helped you out.)
B. The Pharaoh restored the Chief Butler just as Joseph had predicted but the Baker got hanged, just as Joseph predicted.
1. The Butler did not keep his promise to help Joseph.
VIIII. 41: God always has a Ram in the bush. The King has dreams that his magicians and wise men could not descipher. Guess who is needed? The Chief Butler told him about Joseph. NOW he was ready to reveal Joseph probably for kudos and credits. Isn’t that just like people today? They don’t mention you unless they get the credit for it.
A. The King likes Josephs interpretations and says that he heard he can interpret. Joseph gives God the Glory in front of the Pharaoh. 41:16
B. Joseph glorifies God in front of a non-believing Pharaoh again 41:25
X. 41:29 The Pharaoh promotes Joseph, gives him his ring and made him to ride in the second chariot 41:43, and Joseph became ruler over all of the land.
A. Evil Kings are described of those who “knew not Joseph.”
B. The Pharaoh changed his name to Zaph-nath-paa-neah. (Esther, Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego, others names changed.)
XI. 41:12 Notice that even those who tried to forget Joseph (You) always run into a situation where they will have to reveal you in some kind of way. The
Devil tries to hide you but God brings you out. Your good name precedes you. No matter what people try to say about you to dirty your name, God will bring out the truth and they will have to give credit where credit is due. And remember it’s not you, it’s the God in you. Give God all of the glory.
DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO BE FIRST? IS IT NECESSARY TO ALWAYS BE FIRST TO DO GOD’S WORK?
Are you saved? Now is the time to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. With all that is going on around the world, you need a friend. Jesus can be that special friend if you allow Him into your life. He is your helper and His Holy Spirit is your Comforter.
If you are not saved, just repeat the Romans Road after me: Say “Jesus, I repent of my sins, I am so sorry Lord. I believe that you died on the cross and rose 3 days later from the dead, just for me and I accept what you have done, I accept you as my Savior. Thank you Jesus, amen.” Now go find a bible believing, Holy Ghost filled church and learn of Him, it’s never too late. Your new life starts now. All old things are gone away. God throws them as far as the East if from the West. Now….go live, laugh and love!
Num 6:24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
Num 6:25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
Num 6:26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
Thank you for coming on today and I pray that your week goes by Victoriously!
Rev Essie signing off! God bless and have a great day!
