Praise and worship should precede your battle.

Praise and Worship should precede your battle.

2 Chronicles 20:1-22

Precede: To come before something in time. To come in order or position. To take time to do a thing. “And he preceded to move forward.” To go or come before. Prepare the way. To introduce or usher in.

2Ch 20:1  It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
2Ch 20:2  Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.
2Ch 20:3  And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
2Ch 20:4  And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.
2Ch 20:5  And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,
2Ch 20:6  And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
2Ch 20:7  Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?
2Ch 20:8  And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,
2Ch 20:9  If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.
2Ch 20:10  And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;
2Ch 20:11  Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.
2Ch 20:12  O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.
2Ch 20:13  And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
2Ch 20:14  Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;
2Ch 20:15  And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
2Ch 20:16  To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
2Ch 20:17  Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.
2Ch 20:18  And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.
2Ch 20:19  And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.
2Ch 20:20  And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
2Ch 20:21  And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.
2Ch 20:22  And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
2Ch 20:23  For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.

Here, we have 3 enemies coming up against God’s people, all at one time. Ammon, Moab and the inhabitants of Seir. That’s a lot of enemies at one time wouldn’t you say? As you may have heard me say before, the enemy doesn’t come at you one at a time. When he comes, he come thick. satan tries to hit you all at once to knock you off of your feet. he is not a fair fighter and he doesn’t want to be friends. he wants to lead and he surely doesn’t want a co-leader. he hates us. This battle that we are in is VERY spiritual. There are more enemies than we can possibly handle by ourselves that’s why Jesus stepped in and has Angels fighting for us. Just when you feel that all hope is gone and that things in your life will not possibly change, and even the prayer requests that you’ve been asking for don’t seem to be getting answered, Jesus is fighting your battles. As the Gospel singer sings, “The battle is not yours it’s the Lords.” He causes your enemies to literally turn on each other. Isn’t that awesome? It’s a shame that they are so hard-headed and won’t stop picking on God’s children but they are. Just like their father satan. Joh 8:44  Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
We just have to have the faith to believe in God and all of what He says that He is going to do for us and leave the battle up to Him.

Trying to outsmart our enemies at times or outtalk them, will not work. Have you ever had someone that you know is not your friend, or a bad neighbor perhaps who finally tries to hold a conversation with you but you can’t get a word in edgewise? They manipulate the conversation and say what they have to say, and you don’t get a chance to join in on this alleged conversation? It’s a set up. The demons in them had it ready. They knew that they didn’t want to talk to you so they zoom through a few sentences just to make it look like they were being friendly and boom! They’re gone as quickly as they came! They are riddled with evil spirits that are uncomfortable being around you, and don’t worry, they surely don’t want to hear anything that you have to say. You didn’t get to bring up about how noisy they are when your babies are trying to sleep or the horrible cursing and conversations about missing veins and dope bags. They talked and left so fast that you didn’t even get to find out their names so that you can attempt to know them on a first name basis. And they could care less about getting to know your name unless it’s for identity theft purposes. It’s a set up. I would suggest to you who may be in that certain situation, anoint your walls with holy oil, your door jambs, door knobs, windows and your porch or patio because there is a spiritual battle going on around you. The Psalm says, He who worships in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. If we cannot secure our homes spiritually, against a satanic attack, we will be overtaken. If you must get some olive oil, vegetable oil, Avon’s Skin So Soft, (notice the shameless plug? lol) and pray over it in Jesus name and make your own Holy Oil. And don’t allow the enemy to talk to your mind and tell you that it doesn’t work. He’ll do that too. He loves redirection. Watch for a negative type of redirection in your life. Gird up your loins in the spirit, pray for Wisdom like King Solomon did, ask the Holy Spirit to direct you, your words, your thoughts, and He will. Ask Jesus to protect you. I posted this past week, “Jesus be a fence all around me everyday” and I meant it. Lord be a fence. Amen.

Judah’s enemies came against Jehosaphat and his people to invade them. Judah (Israel) got together and told Jehosaphat that the enemy was coming by way of Engedi. The first thing that the leader did was lean on God. He called a fast and did seek the Lord. The Bible says that they “came to seek the Lord” now we don’t know how many days, weeks or months that could have been but they dropped all that they were doing and had sense enough to seek their Maker. They became united in prayer, calling on their Divine Helper. Notice I said, “Divine Helper.” They did not depend on their own strength. As the word tells us in Deut. 8:18 don’t think that it was your own strength or power that got you the blessings. Amen? Whatever blessings that there may be in your life. Some people will get blessed and think that it was because of something that they did that brought the blessing. Sometimes God will test you to see how you are going to handle a thing. Note: He does test but He does not tempt although I do believe that word is used once in the bible but it all boils down to the interpretation of the word ‘test’ in the writing of the scriptures from Greek and Hebrew to English. (The devil is called the Tempter.) We see this in Mat 4:3  And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
1Th 3:5  For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

God will give you something little ahead of giving you something big that He may have in mind. If you diss Him with the little blessing, you will not get the big one that He has in mind because you didn’t bless Him, worship and/or praise Him with the minuscule blessing. If you don’t take care of your apartment why would He give you a mansion? Jesus went from His own apartment in John 1:38-39 to a Mansion in the 3rd Heaven!

Joh 1:38  Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou? (Where do you live?)
Joh 1:39  He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

He obeyed His Father, and HE WAS God! He told people that His mission was to do the Father’s Will.

Joh 6:38  For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
Joh 6:39  And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
Joh 6:40  And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

If people can’t help finance a ministry that operates for God’s Kingdom, why would He give them money to vacation or travel? Notice the story about the Widow of Zarepath? When Elijah came to her, her told her to fix her last bit of meal for, not her and her son, but FOR HIM! The nerve of that Prophet!!!! Amen? She was being tested. God had a blessing for her to the point where she never lacked again. She was being tested even to where the man of God saved her son by bringing him back from death. Do you remember that story? Have you read it yet? What I am about to say may sound a little deep and harsh but, there could be some(thing) or someone in your own life that, or who, may not have a long life span, and God will revive it, or them, for you if you bless His Ministers. I don’t mean that as a threat to anyone because God forbid that I use corny scare tactics to get people to give but according to the story about Elijah and the Widow …. you never know what is in your future. There are so many who are saying, “I am covered by the Blood” but they don’t believe God’s prophets. Ok, so you believe in the Blood of Jesus but you don’t believe in spreading the Love to others through His Word? Jesus IS the Word. When we preach about Him and study Him, we are doing it to introduce Him to the lost and unsaved. That is the preachers commission and we need the help of others to get the Word around the World. We are not buying the unnecessaries like large tv’s and mink stoles, we are paying bills to keep our ministry going which doesn’t only include electric, gas and water but licenses to continue to do what we do online and radio, new equipment like books, microphones, computers, paper, printers, stamps, envelopes, etc. That’s why we ask for help. God is our Provider but He does it through the hands of others. God uses people, amen? The anointing you fail to recognize is the anointing you fail to release.
Some don’t believe in sharing so others can be blessed as well. Isn’t the Main Commandment that we should love one another? You met a new boyfriend or a new girlfriend, got married or got saved but you didn’t tell anybody? You shared it right? Salvation and stinginess don’t go together. Jesus was known as a Prophet, a Rabbi, a Preacher and a Minister. People believe in Jesus but they don’t believe in His Ministers. That’s the typical oxymoron. His own Mother Mary told people at the Wedding of Cana, “Do as He says” during the miracle of the Wine. Do you want to prosper? Trust who God sends into your life. We are not perfect at all, and we have our personal ways and idiosyncrasies, but we are sent. We were bold enough to answer the call in Matthew 28:18-20. I just saw a preacher on tv yesterday who said that he was in India and was about to get on the podium but they first called a man up to speak who was about 4 feet high. He just kept saying, “God is good. amen” in a little frail voice. The people would say, “Amen.” He didn’t have much to say and the preacher said that he wasn’t much to look at on the outside, a little raggedy and frail but after so many times of saying, “God is good, amen,” the glory of the Lord began to overtake the crowd and miracles began to happen there and people were being filled with the Holy Spirit. See? You can’t judge a book by it’s cover.
2 Chron 20:20 says “Believe in His prophets and so shall ye prosper.” There’s your new 2020 vision for you for this year. If you do not believe, ask God to help your unbelief as in Mark 9:14-24, ANOTHER case of a child being saved, Just say, “Lord help mine unbelief?” Jesus corrected His own disciples for having unbelief in the story of the young man with seizures.

Mar 9:17  And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
Mar 9:18  And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
Mar 9:19  He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
Mar 9:20  And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
Mar 9:21  And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
Mar 9:22  And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
Mar 9:23  Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
Mar 9:24  And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
Mar 9:25  When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
Mar 9:26  And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
Mar 9:27  But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
Mar 9:28  And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
Mar 9:29  And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

The scripture about prayer and fasting is not about demons of which I, myself have even taught but it is about unbelief. Unbelief is a spirit. See Hebrews 3:12
Heb 3:12  Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

Praise and Worship strengthens your unbelief, gives God Glory and defeats your foes who want you to consistently live in unbelief like they did before they got kicked out of Heaven!!!!!!!!!
Check out verse 14 that says that the Spirit of the Lord came in the midst of the congregation and told them not to be afraid or dismayed regardless of the size of their enemies but the battle is not theirs to fight. He said that He (God) would fight it for them. Notice that, in verse 16, they had to ‘do’ something. Action. Faith is action. Acting upon something. As much as we would like to joke around and say that we’d sit back with an ice tea or a coffee and let God do His business, we can’t say that because they had to ‘go’ and ‘do’ something before the Victory took place. Pray y’all. Pray, stand, lift your hands and sing when the enemy comes against you. Don’t just sit there, wondering what God is going to do. He told them to go to “that place” against the enemy and stand still. He told them to “go to the brook.” See, sometimes those that you see at the ‘watering holes’ (which are possible places of victory assigned for YOU and not THEM), are not always those who are supposed to be watering themselves there. They are taking up YOUR space and YOUR time and blessings. Energy Vampires. Blessing Vampires. They are posers, pretenders, aliens in your territory. God will remove them and give you the entire area, in Jesus name. Ooh and let me straighten out this meaning before someone gets it twisted, I do not mean racially.

Verse 18: The King and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed down before the Lord worshiping Him and then stood up (action) to praise and worship Him with loud voices, announcing their God to the World-no shame-no hiding (more action) and the King appointed who? SINGERS unto the Lord to sing about the beauty of His holiness. Wait….a war is about to happen and they are giving God all of the attention???? For real????? You mean they are not focusing on the battle at all? “Well that’s not what they should do!” some would say. And you are right, according to the world it is not what they should do but God’s family is not worldly. We are in the World but not of it. We are a different kind of breed. And guess what, that’s what you should do when the enemy rises up against you…..give God ALL of the attention. FOCUS. As the shirts and hats say today, “No fear” but ours is saying “no fear of the enemy.”

Verse 22 is totally awesome: 2Ch 20:22  And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
2Ch 20:23  For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.

AS they were singing THE LORD set ambushments against the enemies of God. No offense but, who needs them? And those fools came against one another and killed each other. That’s a tip to you listeners out there or you who read this on my blog. When your enemies come up against you, just stand as Pastor Donnie McClurkin says in his song. Stand and sing some praise and worship, praise and bless God. And watch what He will do for you for trusting in Him.

Are you saved?????

Are you saved? Now is the time to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. With all that is going on around the world, you need a friend. Jesus can be that special friend if you allow Him into your life. He is your helper and His Holy Spirit is your Comforter.
If you are not saved, just repeat the Romans Road after me: Say “Jesus, I repent of my sins, I am so sorry Lord. I believe that you died on the cross and rose 3 days later from the dead, just for me and I accept what you have done, I accept you as my Savior. Thank you Jesus, amen.” Now go find a bible believing, Holy Ghost filled church and learn of Him, it’s never too late. Your new life starts now. All old things are gone away. God throws them as far as the East if from the West. Now….go live, laugh and love!
Thank you for coming on today and I pray that your week goes by Victoriously!

Num 6:24  The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
Num 6:25  The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
Num 6:26  The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
