I just had the most interesting conversation with a loved one about Adam and Eve. They kept trying to tell me for months now that Eve had sex with satan and Cain is the result. They even went to the point of giving me the recent examples how a woman can have relations with two different men and have twins of varying backgrounds (race, etc.) Their church, their pastor and their bible study group is telling people that Cain is satan’s baby and I must say that unless you speak of this in a spiritual way and not physical, I find that in error. Bare with me while I try to explain my reasoning as to why Eve did not have sex with satan. Forgive my wording please.
➢ 1. In Genesis Chapter 2 is the very first marriage. See verses 22-25
Genesis 2:21-25
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Now, this is the first marriage. Adam and Eve are now married and she is called his wife in Chapter 2 verse 24. God made the man and woman to “fit” together, if you will. He’s God, He can create anything that He wants, however He wants.
➢ 2.) In the 3rd chapter is the incident where Eve misstated God’s words and gave in to sinning against God by “paying attention to” or “listening to” the snake, who was then a walking and talking animal, erected and upright. I am certain that God did not give the snake the same genitals that he gave Adam since “The First Adam” (Jesus was the Last Adam) was God’s first human and beloved creation that He told to dress and keep ‘everything’ in Chp 2:15. And also, a snake would certainly not please a woman as her husband had or we would be talking about adultery and beastiality here as well.
➢ 3.) If the snake knew in Chapter 3, verse 5 that God ‘doth know’ things, wouldn’t he think that God would see him trying to have sex with “Woman” as well? Children were not mentioned until after the fall where Eve’s heel would bruise the snake’s head and his seed would bruise her heel. (The enemy is ALWAYS underneath our feet, at ALL times, thank you Jesus.)
➢ 4.) Chapter 4 plainly states that Adam knew Eve his ‘wife’ (had relations with her) and she….CONCEIVED ONCE BUT BORE TWICE…..meaning that Cain and Abel were twins. Like today, if you are a twin, your mother ‘conceived once’ (one conception) but ‘bore twice’ having you and your sibling. If we want to say that Cain’s father was the devil then we should say it in a spiritual way and not meaning – of the physical. Jesus even said that to people in John 8:44:
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (John 8:44)
Jesus wasn’t stating that their actual physical father was the devil but that they had adopted the Evil Ones ways and therefore now belong to him.
➢ 5.) Cain wasn’t “cursed” until Chapter 4 verse 11. God cursed Cain for his wicked ways and said that he would be a vagabond and a fugitive. Cain is a representative of evil with Abel being a representative of good.
I hope that this proves the fact that Cain was not “physically” satan’s son and that Eve did not have sex with a snake.
Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. (1 Timothy 1:4)
But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. (Titus 3:9)
