Persecuted for Christ
Rev Essie Scott of Pittsburgh, Pa.
1 Peter 4:2 (main verses)
Good Morning Saints and if you aren’t one, consider becoming one so that you can live free, covered by the Redemptive Blood of Jesus. Amen.
I pray that your day is going well and blessed and if it doesn’t seem to be Bless it yourself! You have the Most High God within you. He gave His Power to you to use so use it! Hallelujah!
Today I will be speaking on “Persecuted for Christ” So grab your pen and notebook or tablet, your drink and your snack and sit back and listen, and I will discuss this right after our Invocation of God’s Ruach HaKodesh, His Holy Spirit.
Just as the phrase was stated in the book of Esther “For such a time as this” I am stating the same to all of my friends and believers of Jesus Christ that, things are happening in the spiritual which you may be feeling in the natural that are only a sign to prepare for such a time as this. Persecution among the saints has Amplified. Some are caught off guard and are unusually shocked when things happen out of the ordinary to them. Peter tells us plainly not to be surprised when outrageous and untimely attacks come our way. We must remember that Jesus said that Satan walks about as a roaring lion. 1 Peter 5:8. He didn’t say that he was one but gives the appearance in our lives as being one. Years ago I watched a family movie called face the tiger about a young boy who was being bullied and he ran away at every chance, living his life in fear. An old Chinese man told him about a little boy who was constantly being chased by Tiger. It made his life miserable. His sensei told the little boy, “face the Tiger.” One day as the little boy in the man’s story was coming home from school the tiger ran up to him. With his little heart pounding he turned around and faced the Tiger and the tiger ran away from him. The little boy who heard the story got victory over all of his fears and faced the bullies and they no longer chased him or bothered him when they saw his courage. And this is what the devil does to us, he does everything he can to try to put fear into our hearts but when he sees your courage. And who is our courage? Jesus. When he sees the Jesus in you, He will run. Ladies and gentlemen we are an example of that little boy. I am telling you today to turn around drop your inhibitions and face your fears head on, let them know that you are no longer afraid of them. The word says be bold be strong for the Lord thy God is with you.
Php 1:14 And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. (This is what God wants us to do or it wouldn’t have been in His book, in His direction pamphlet.)
1Th 2:2 But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.
You are going to get much contention, you are going to get people who will speak out against you. You are going to get people to stop you from speaking and talking about the Lord but Who is in you? The strongest train in the world can’t stop the Jesus in you. The hardest mountain in the world can’t stop the Jesus in you. The wickedest witch in the world can’t stop the Jesus in you. The strongest spell in the world can’t stop the Jesus in you. Amen?
Peter tells us not to think that some strange thing has happened to us that we know not of. We know who it is and why it or they are bothering us. The devil knows his time is short. Do we? If Jesus suffered we will suffer too. And some of the suffering will come from those who we thought were fellow believers or friends! Those who call themselves Christians who are afraid to stand up against evil are inwardly wicked. As Jesus once said, White-washed sepulchres, they’re dead. How can you watch your brother and sister be persecuted and not say a word, hiding as though you didn’t hear it or see it? Many don’t say a word because they just may like the one or ones who are persecuting you.
Pro 28:1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Don’t let the enemy be the lion, you be the lion. He has no teeth. You have teeth. 1 Peter 4:14 plainly tells us that if we are reproached for Christs sake…..BE HAPPY! REJOICE! We have to remind ourselves of this. Not to go down into a pity party. Be happy. You know, that only sounds crazy to those who don’t want to be happy. The melancholy, the depressed. They want to stay in that situation. Some people don’t want to be saved or let go and live free. They are so used to being in bonds that they don’t want to be free. Some slaves when freedom came, still stayed on the plantation, serving others when they could have been free and had their own land and families. Kunta Kinta got his foot cut off from attempting to run away. But he tried. There are believers all over the world getting persecuted even to the point of death, but they stand up for Christ. When God’s glory is revealed you will be glad with much joy. That’s when you can look at yourself and say ” I made it!” It’s not over when the fat lady sings or when pigs fly, but when horse’s fly! Revelation 19:11-18.
Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
Rev 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Rev 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Rev 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Rev 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Rev 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
Rev 19:18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
Amen, God bless the reading of His Word, the Word of God, amen.
I have been seeing a slew of ministers for God going through trials and hindrances even those on tv such as Joyce Meyer, Andrew Wommack and Perry Stone. They are beginning to talk about things that they are experiencing! It’s not just the little guys like me anymore. For no reason, I was recently banned from my own hometowns Facebook page with no warning or notice. Nothing! I did absolutely nothing wrong. And when things happen to you like this you are going to say the same thing, just give God the glory. We are talking about a town that is being recognized by Hallmark recently. That really looks great, a Hallmark-recognized town, kicking Preachers out of their Facebook Group. People don’t think. It seems that there is aHaman in every group but God has sent His Esther’s for such a time as this. We have to stop being in that victim mentality and really start to focus on what God is doing in our lives at that time. If you remember, Haman hung on his own noose that he had built for Esther’s Uncle Mordecai. The ditch that someone else has dug for you, they will fall in it themselves. Hallelujah! Let God fight that battle.
If what happened to me was reported it’d probably go viral, right? But Jesus tells us to pray for our enemies. Do you see what’s happening here? And now, two days later Facebook is threatening to shut me down saying that my posts are spam? Folks, I only share the posts and videos from our ministry page to my regular page. Now how is that spam? Yesterday someone reported 9 of my posts but, did it shake me? What does the book of Peter say? Beloved think it not strange…. And I am telling you beloved it think it not odd, or crazy and strange when these things happen to you. In fact, when it happens they’re doing you a favor because they are just letting you know that you are closer to Jesus than you thought you were. If nothing happens to you there is a reason. Amen. satan doesn’t mess with those that he already has. Remenber that.
We better get right folks. Another thing, we need to stop standing by watching what is happening to another Christian without standing up for them. I can tell who cares about me, for real, because when something odd happens to me they are not afraid to speak up or ask why. God bless those spiritual giants. They are usually the ones who have really been through some mess in their lives and aren’t afraid to testify about it. They’re not afraid of the devil. Christians are so used to calling people big mouths that they don’t even realize that satan is using them to do it. Intimidation folks. And once again, persecution. Judge their spirits by the spirit.
Let’s talk about persecution…Daniel in the lion’s den. Joseph and his stupid brothers. Job and the devil himself. Esther (the Jews), and Haman. Moses and his alleged fleshly dad and brother. Lot and his homosexual neighbors who wanted to rape him and the angels that God sent to visit him. Abel, killed by his own brother. Shall we talk about siblings? Right? Shall we talk about siblings? Some siblings want you dead faster than your enemies. Israel who is being bombed right now as we speak. The disciples, some were beheaded and even Peter hung upside down as not to hang the same way that his Savior did. John the Baptizer. An evil, lustful woman wanted his head on a plate, and got it. Zacchaeus and the sycamore tree. Oh let me tell you about Zacchaeus’ story real quick. This fig tree that Zacchaeus was on blessed Jesus, the other one tried to starve Him. Sycamore is a type of fig tree. Do you see the difference? Jesus told Zaccaheus that the two would eat together yet Jesus curses the barren fig tree that wouldn’t allow Him to eat. Zacchaeus was prepared for the Saviour. Thats the difference. The barren fig tree was like the 10 silly virgins that weren’t ready for the wedding. The Bridegroom came and they missed out on a wonderful life ever after. Nehemiah and his wall. The Sanballots and Horonites harassed that man the whole time that he rebuilt the Wall of his beloved Israel. Nehemiah 2 They had so many enemies that in Nehamiah 4:17 they had to build with a weapon in one hand. Doesn’t life feel like that sometimes? You’re building with one hand and you have your weapon in the other hand. Shall I go on? Ok, the Jews in Israel and all those grafted in around the world. Christian’s who just want to worship in their beautiful church building and hope to keep the cross on top of it. Worshipers who are afraid of who will walk in the door next, whether or not they will have a gun. Nigerian and East Indian pastors who are being burned out and murdered for their faith in Jesus. Shall I go on? Ok, Christian’s in Hollywood who are not allowed to say Jesus on stage or on camera. Praise and worshipers with awesome self made and holy ghost inspired songs that recording studios don’t want to sponsor because it’s all for Jesus and not spiritually and naturally neutral. That includes love songs that could be dedicated to Jesus OR a love interest. It doesn’t matter as long as it makes us money. Just leave His name out, make it sound like you are singing to a lover. If you wrote a song for Jesus would you leave His name out? It’s like buying Jesus a beautiful gift and telling Him that He’s not good enough to have it alone but He has to share it with someone worldly as well. What about the children in schools who have to go to court to see if they can still have bible studies or pray in school? Persecution from our own people folks!
What the world does not understand is that once we accept Jesus it is no longer us that lives but Christ that lives in us. When they reject us they are rejecting Jesus. God tells us to be still. He sees it all. Don’t cuss people out or go off of the deep end. You don’t want to step out in your flesh although many times you are tempted to. That’s that’s what the devil wants. he wants you to step out in your flesh so that he can tell people see, told you she/he wasn’t a Christian. God will fight our battles in His own way and on His own good timing. Someone may have done something to you that was out of pocket and instead of God zapping them then, at that time, He may be sitting the incident aside and collecting them all on this person to put in their book for judgement day until, and hoping that they do, repent. That’s why Jesus tells us to forgive and it will be forgiven of us. When you forgive, God uses His Heavenly eraser or delete button. Don’t you just love that delete button especially if it is deleting your own trespasses? We are going through enough with the world without going through battles with our own brothers and sisters. Each one of us has also some kind of battle to fight. No one is exempt. We are to be a helping hand not a striking hand.
People who let the devil use them have no idea what they are dealing with. We can look them straight in the eyes and Jesus will be changing things around in their lives as we gaze. He’s that quick. Deuteronomy 28 shows us what will happen when we choose the right way of doing things and what will happen if we choose the wrong way. Deutero, it means two. One part is what good will happen if you do God’s commandments and the other part is what bad will happen if you don’t. There are no excuses. God told us ahead of time. We now make our own decisions. Chose correctly. That’s why it’s important to read His unadulterated Word that everyone keeps trying to change for some ungodly reason. Don’t change the Word just read the Word. He also says “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you.” Now, it’s their move. What they do to us will be done to them after we are raptured, which actually means “caught up.” They will suffer as we live with peace, joy and love in the ever after. All of the mockery, bullying and hatred, they WILL see and experience it. Its sad to say that but it’s TRUE. Rebellion and stubbornness only causes one to suffer. God is going to let satan off of his chain and its going to be on folks. Check out Revelation chapter 20 sometime. Aw, you gotta read Revelation Chapter 20. I know some people try to stay away from Revelation (no ‘s’,) but it is important to read. And if you don’t have the understanding just study on it. Go online, and ask some rabbi’s and some preachers. It is very interesting to read. There is nothing that we can do about it. In fact the microchip I believe is what the bible is talking about in verse 4 of Chapter 20. People focus on the mark on their foreheads that they are missing the mark that will be placed on people’s hands as well. Here’s Rev 13 and then I will read Rev 20
Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Rev 13:9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
Rev 13:10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
The Defeat of Satan
Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
I believe that gog and Magog battle is happening right now so we have to get ready. The countries are gathering together to fight one another. Pray for your loved ones now not later. We never know when we are going to be caught up with Jesus. Whether you are pre trib, mid trib or post trib, just be saved. Pray that God opens your loved ones spiritual eyes and gives them that Damascus Road experience. Saul who hated Christians turned to the Apostle Paul when his eyes were opened. And he then wrote most of the books of the New Testament too. He was so sure of his salvation that he told people to follow him as he followed Christ. That’s a strong statement. Check out how Paul was persecuted in 2nd Cor 11:23. (Paul’s resume’.)
Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more in labor’s more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods. Once I was stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck. A night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of mine own countrymen, (I concur with Paul here,) I. Perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in bbn perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren, (let’s also cover that as we. Shall we?) In weariness and painfulness, in watching often, in hunger and thirst, in tastings often in cold and nakedness. Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the carry of all the churches. While one is weak and I am not weak? Who is offended and I am not offended? If I must needs glory I will glory in the things which concern mine infirmities. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed forever more knows that I lie not. I Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me. And through a window in a basket was I was let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.
That is the Apostle Paul’s resume’. What is yours? What have you been through for Christ. Last Sunday I talked about the left or the right hand of God. Are you on the left hand of God or the right hand? Are we always asking Him for something and always wanting something from Him or do we joyfully go through trials and tests and persecutions because we love the Son of God. Where do you stand? Whose side are you on? We’re in a battle we are in a war folks and it’s only going to get worse. Don’t be like the silly virgins, be prepared so when the Bridegroom comes you will be ready. Be prepared. Sit, rest in the right sycamore tree. Sit down and sup with Jesus. Rest, talk to Him, Don’t be a dried up fig tree. Jesus cursed the fig tree and the next morning it was gone.
Talking about divine favor! God wanted to make sure that Paul got the Word out just as He is making sure that we are doing the same. Woah to those ministers in title only who are afraid to speak up for others in the body of Christ! Woah to those who stand back to see how our plight, which is actually persecution, will “turn out.” Sampson would knock the beams down around them. David would sling a rock in their forehead and Debra and Barack would devour them in battle. The great thing about this is that we as Christians today don’t have to do all of that. We have Jesus! He does the heavy work. Don’t talk more about a situation to your friends and family members more than you talk to Jesus about it, amen?
Yes I am going through persecution but I am going to be honest with you, I don’t want to go too far and say, “It was great!” It’s not great but it IS a sign that I did SOMETHING good for God. If I wasn’t a threat to the enemy then I am not successful for the Kingdom of God. When you become a threat to the enemy, then you now you’ve been, or are being successful for the Kingdom of Heaven. Amen. So…
1Pe 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
1Pe 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
Are you saved?
Are you saved?
If you are not just repeat the Romans Road after me: Say “Jesus, I repent of my sins, I am so sorry Lord. I believe that you died on the cross and rose 3 days later from the dead, just for me and I accept what you have done, I accept you as my Savior. Thank you Jesus, amen.” Now go find a bible believing, Holy Ghost filled church and learn of Him, it’s never too late. Your new life starts now. All old things are gone away. God throws them as far as the East if from the West. Now….go live, laugh and love!
Thank you for coming on today and I pray that your week goes by Victoriously!
