Make changes to Facebook

Throughout the years that I’ve been using Facebook I’ve noticed that when you open an account with them you are opening your name, family, and soul to the world. Anyone can comment, anyone can put pics on your page unless you know how to stop it and there are so many directions that it is hard to remember them all. And let’s not forget the people who personally ‘message’ you saying, “hello beautiful!” and you don’t even know them. “I’ve been watching you online and I think you are absolutely gorgeous and I want to get to know you.” It’s like, “For real though?” You just feel like saying, “You’re corny, please….stop!’

And let’s not forget those who enjoy ‘calling people out’ in public online and those who like to send subliminal messages hoping that the right one for which their post is intended would gain understanding of it. I had someone call themselves ‘calling me out’ on Facebook one day over something that I posted on my page which was actually my personal opinion about a subject. I didn’t ask for her opinion. She ‘told me off’ and unfriended me over it. It bothered me for a minute until people slowly and ‘quietly’ began to message me saying what a fool she made of herself. I didn’t expect anyone to take my side actually but this goes to show that people see you when you act ugly. The problem with Facebook Tell-Offs is the fact that people forget where they came from while they attempt to get ‘bad’ with someone online. Now if I wanted to, I could have kept the conversation going in the thread and mentioned about how her son and his little cousin used to run away every day to hide at my house. I guess in her anger at me, she forgot. I could have called Children, Youth and Services on her 20 years ago but I didn’t because I don’t handle business that way. I chose this avenue mainly because 1.)  It’s my own blog/group, (I think lol) and, 2.) I don’t have 2200 followers like I do on Facebook so I think I am safe somewhat.
I am placing this on my blog for all of you who may have experienced this as well. When someone calls themselves “telling you off” publicly, remain calm. Your cheeks may blush and your heart may race but believe me…..people see it too, and all of them are not against you. You’d be surprised of those who are on your side. As old folks say, “When someone wants to make a fool of themselves, let them do it BY themselves.” It’s also in scripture as well:
Prov 18:7

Proverbs 18:6-7

A fool’s lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.

A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

Eccl 10:12

Ecclesiastes 10:12

12  The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.

Pr 14:3

Proverbs 14:3

In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
