My day of joyful cooking.

Good Evening,

I was in a cooking mood today. I am not a photographer but I had to use my Android to take a pic of my food today. It came out so awesome. It seems that whenever you spend less time with it, the food just comes out better somehow I was raised around the old folk who took all day to cook and bragged about it. Their meats fell apart and melted in your mouth and their soups were awesome. Lately, I find that I can cook just as well without the slowcooker going all night. Then again, after raising two hungry children and having a daycare for 13 years, one learns to cook real quick! An enemy years ago decided to call the state on my daycare and told them that the kids weren’t eating. When the inspector came (unannounced), he found two crock pots going with beef stew in one and veggies or something in another. I can’t exactly remember what the dish was.  I had made potatoe salad that day and a couple of sweets for the kids, cake and cookies or something. The man came in and was blown back by the smell of food and the quantity. It was so cool to watch God work in my favor. God even allowed me to find out that it was a disgruntled ex who called on me. (His whispery voice gave it away.) The inspector happened to know one of my uncles. We ended up sitting at the table talking about fishing tactics and my uncle. God is good.
Anywhooooo….
Here’s some unprofessional pics of my food today k?  No, I didn’t wipe the plates or forks or whatever….it just looked good. I’ve seen some blogs that are great with pictures, I am not the one.
  Veggie sketts!
  My Apple Pie cooling….          A scoop…
It was awesome too. I had to use Splenda and it worked out great. Being Diabetic, I try to be careful with the sugar thing. My body used to read Splenda as a regular sugar years ago and I couldn’t use it. I loved Blue Sugar packets regardless of the company….Equal or cheapies.  They say that Equal (Blue Packet Sugars) turn to formaldehyde when heated and that people were complaining about their joints while using it. My joints now feel better but it could also be because I started Splenda during the month of June….the weather warmed up, who knows?
Somehow I can use Splenda now and I got a good report from my Doctor about my sugar level, and etc.
Well, I hope that you liked my post. I also hope that it causes you to smile, enjoy life and treat yourself to something great no matter what the source. (Keep it legal okay?)
Love ya,
Rev. Essie

Letter to our new students/members (past 7 days) God is good!

{This letter is to our newest members within the past week. God is on a move with us and for that we are thankful. Please write and request the lessons if you haven’t yet. If not we will not know that you want them. Some of our members are here out of love and are agreeing in everyday prayer with us.

We are sending the first lesson called “The Word of God”. The first 4 lessons are our typical “Bible School” lessons because they are the foundation of the Christian life. Word, Fasting, Prayer and then Giving. You will receive one lesson per month which gives everyone time to study the lessons. We hope that you enjoy reading them. After the 4th lesson, they will be more on a personal level. Every third week of each month, the test is distributed if you are interested in receiving a Certificate of Biblical Knowledge after approximately 12 lessons. You have 7 days to answer it and send it back. We have to do it this way so that we will know who is interested and who is not. We will not send new lessons if you haven’t sent in the tests (by the end of each month) to let us know that you are ready for the new one. You can print, answer, scan and email back or answer it right out of the email by hitting “reply” and answering the questions and returning it to us. Please forgive us if some of the sentences are a bit spacey. We try to correct them. Sometimes they get rearranged and the regular arrangement gets lost in translation after copying and pasting the lessons to each email. Some computers cannot read our pdf’s. and some cannot read our rtf (rich text format) therefore we have to copy and paste each lesson.

We are delighted to see your interest in learning more of God along with us. He is so awesome that there is not one day that goes by that we can say that we have arrived and know all that there is to know about Him. Each day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before.

Know that everyday you are prayer-soaked by New Birth Ministries. God bless and may you find what you seek.

Homemade remedies

Tape this inside medicine cabinet

Did You Know That? Drinking two glasses of Gatorade can relieve headache pain almost immediately — without the unpleasant side effects caused by traditional “pain relievers.”

Did you know that Colgate toothpaste makes an excellent salve for burns.

Before you head to the drugstore for a high-priced inhaler filled with mysterious chemicals, try chewing on a couple of curiously strong Altoids peppermints. They’ll clear up your stuffed nose.

Achy muscles from a bout of the flu? Mix 1 Tablespoon of horseradish in 1 cup of olive oil. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as a massage oil, for instant relief for aching muscles.

Sore throat? Just mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1/4 cup of honey and take 1 tablespoon six times a day. The vinegar kills the bacteria.

Cure urinary tract infections with Alka-Seltzer . Just dissolve two tablets in a glass of water and drink it at the onset of the symptoms. Alka-Seltzer begins eliminating urinary tract infections almost instantly — even though the product was never advertised for this use. Note Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold Medicine is not the same..and contains aspirin, which can cause stomach bleeding if you have ulcers.)

Honey remedy for skin blemishes … Cover the blemish with a! dab of honey and place a Band-Aid over it. Honey kills the bacteria, keeps the skin sterile, and speeds healing. Works overnight.

Listerine < > therapy for toenail fungus … Get rid of unsightly toenail fungus by soaking your toes inListerine mouthwash. The powerful antiseptic leaves your toenails looking healthy again.

Easy eyeglass protection … To prevent the screws in eyeglasses from loosening, apply a small drop ofMaybelline Crystal Clear nail polish to the threads of the screws before tightening them.

Coca-Cola cure for rust … Forget those expensive rust removers. Just saturate an abrasive sponge with Coca Cola and scrub the rust stain. The phosphoric acid in the coke is what gets the job done.

Cleaning liquid that doubles as bug killer … If menacing bees, wasps, hornets, or yellow jackets get in your home and you can’t find the insecticide, try a spray of Formula 409 . Insects drop to the ground instantly.

Smart splinter remover …just pour a drop of Elmer’s Glue-All over the splinter, let dry, and peel the dried glue off the skin. The splinter sticks to the dried glue.

Hunt’s
tomato paste boil cure ….cover the boil with Hunt’s tomato paste as a compress. The acids from the tomatoes soothe the pain and bring the boil to a head.

Balm for broken blisters …To disinfect a broken blister, dab on a few drops of Listerine … a powerful antiseptic.

Heinz vinegar to heal bruises … Soak a cotton ball in white vinegar and apply it to the bruise for 1 hour. The vinegar reduces the blueness and speeds up the healing process.

Kills fleas instantly Dawn dish washing liquid does the trick. Add a few drops to your dog’s bath and shampoo the animal thoroughly. Rinse well to avoid skin irritations. Goodbye fleas.

Rainy day cure for dog odor … Next time your dog comes in from the rain, simply wipe down the animal withBounce or any dryer sheet, instantly making your dog smell springtime fresh.

Eliminate ear mites … All it takes is a few drops of Wesson corn oil in your cat’s ear. Massage it in, then clean with a cotton ball. Repeat daily for 3 days. The oil soothes the cat’s skin, smothers the mites, and accelerates healing.

Quaker Oats for fast pain relief ….It’s not for breakfast anymore! Mix 2 cups of Quaker Oats and 1 cup of water in a bowl and warm in the microwave for 1 minute, cool slightly, and apply the mixture to your hands for soothing relief from arthritis pain.

Will you fast with me?

We have a special need from one of our members in this group who just had a death in the family and they need direction. I would like to call a fast (total for healthy persons and partial for Diabetics, etc.) starting at 8 pm tonight, 13 June ’12, until 10 am tomorrow morning. If you don’t mind, please join in on this fast with me for this person’s need and pray to our Father that Romans 8:28 will happen in their lives immediately.

Thank you everyone. I know that the new changes in our group may seem strange but I praise God that you all are keeping in touch more than expected and I surely do not mind. God is good, amen.
Keep those emails and tests coming! God bless,
Rev. Essie

Cursing and praying out of the same mouth?

I was at a gathering the other day. God was in the midst to bringing some of us to tears. The Word was taught. 1 Corinthians 13.  The teaching was great and so was the hotdogs, coffee and chips on the table. Our ministry used to be called The Covered Dish Bible Study because we were known to bring something good as an addition to studying the Word. We did it for years and we refuse to quit. satan won’t rob us of our passion and joy. We taught at one Elderly Complex for 5 straight years every Friday at 7:00 p.m. It was fun. Anyway, it was the most pleasant bible study that I can remember. Everyone took turns reading a paragraph and expounded on it afterward.

The problem:  One person, old enough to know better began to talk about something and slipped with a cuss word. This person was asked to pray and prayed wonderfully earlier. It brought me to tears. But then…..they actually cussed while we were talking! I just sat there in shock but tried to hide my feelings about it. My daughter whispered, “Bet you won’t ask them to pray again.”  I laughed and said, “Right.” Folks we need to stop these shinanigans in our households thinking that we can get away with it because sooner or later, God will find you out or “out” you to others and it won’t look so good. For a while I was slightly intimidated by this person as far as bible knowledge is concerned because they are a smart cookie in that area, but not anymore, not after that. God delivered me from that intimidation when I heard the cuss word. I am so glad that Jesus didn’t use cuss words to teach us aren’t you? Imagine that…..then again, I can’t.
Have you ever had this happen to you? Doesn’t it feel sometimes as though they are doing it on purpose to try you? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Some people are so used to cussing in the privacy of their lives that they don’t realize that they are doing it around Christians/Pastors/Ministers of God. Some can also have a spirit of cursing. Have you ever talked to someone and a bad word comes out of their mouths every 4th to 5th word?  Makes you wonder. And some of them are Shepherds! We have to pray for these people and at the same time….make sure that you don’t ask them to pray…you never know what words they will use to talk to God in your presence and the prescence of others.
God bless,
Rev. Esther R. Scott

James 3:10-11

King James Version (KJV)

10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

Testimonies!

There are reports coming in of people in our apartment building that have been told by their doctors that they are now Cancer-free! God is good. I may be wrong, (I really don’t think so), but I think that New Birth is sort of under a “watch” now and we praise and thank God for that. The enemy is tipping around trying to see what God is doing. It’s not us, we are just dedicated ministers of the Word….it’s God who does the healing. Our ministry has bible studies on Tuesdays here and Church on Sundays. God is on an awesome move…Halleluah!

Please continue to pray with and for us? It doesn’t have to be long and drawn out prayers, God is not deaf, He can hear short prayers too. 🙂  We thank you here at New Birth Ministries. God bless you.
