St. Matthew 8:5-17

Mat 8:5  And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

Mat 8:6  And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

Mat 8:7  And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

Mat 8:8  The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

Mat 8:9  For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

Mat 8:10  When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

Mat 8:11  And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 8:12  But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Mat 8:13  And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

Jesus Heals Many

Mat 8:14  And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever.

Mat 8:15  And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

Mat 8:16  When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:

Mat 8:17  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Humans. We use so many words don’t we? Have you ever thought about how much you talk during the day? Especially those who are very active or are around people much of the day, maybe in the office, church, work, store, customer services of some kind. Think about all of those words that come out of your mouth. If you were to measure your positive ‘word-use’ in inches, yards, feet or miles, how many  would you have? How many inches of negativity would you measure? What city could some people have traveled to with that much negativity? Some people could actually travel to countries with all of the words that come out of their mouths. How many of your words can be considered as encouraging, uplifting, healing, and edifying to others besides yourself?

That’s what Jesus did. He was constantly encouraging, edifying and uplifting those who were in need and yet, he also gave correction when needed. His Power was realized when He spoke the Word. Ours is realized when we speak the Word as well. Instead of getting so bogged down with all that is going on around the Word today with this #coronavirus, we should be speaking in prayer or tongues for mankind and all the while rebuking the virus. I see that many have begun to speak that thing down just like we did the Hurricane’s and Tornados a while ago. Put that virus in it’s place like Jesus did in so many examples in the Bible.

Here we have in Matthew 7, a Centurion who came to Jesus (beseeching Him) to ask him to heal his servant who was laying at home sick of palsy and grievously tormented. In other words, this man was in a horrible physical situation. Palsy is a paralysis, especially that which is accompanied by involuntary tremors. That is a serious situation, especially for a servant of a centurion whom, I am sure, needed his services. He even told Jesus in verse 9 that he (the Centurion) was a man under authority, having soldiers under him and when he told someone to move, they moved! He was no joke. He said that when he told someone to do something, they got it done. We don’t know what the, “or else” would have been. He must’ve had heart, and  was different than the rest. He had to be a believer because instead of killing his servant or leaving him like the Egyptian servant  of the Amalekites in 1 Samuel 30:13 (who actually ended up helping Israel because Israel saved and helped him,) this Centurion beseeched Jesus for help. The Centurion’s servant was blessed to have such a leader over him like that. I pray that you all out there have leaders that are caring because they are hard to find.

Centurions usually were great leaders, leading many soldiers. They were the principal professional officer in the armies of ancient Rome and its empire. The centurion was the commander of a centuria, (about 100 men,) which was the smallest unit of a Roman legion. A legion was normally composed of 6,000 soldiers, and each legion was divided up into 10 cohorts, with each cohort containing 6 centuria. The centurion thus nominally commanded about 100 men, and there were 60 centurions in a legion. The centurions in a legion were arranged in a complicated order of rank, with variations in authority and responsibility from top to bottom. The last thing that this company needed was to experience a weak link in their legion. Rome was fierce in their battles and the centurions were to make sure that it stayed that way.

“…but speak the Word”……

In Matthew 8:8 the centurion, after beseeching Jesus tells Him, “…but speak the word only and my servant shall be healed.” That required true faith. He knew something. He had most likely heard or been watching the Lord doing His Father’s work. Jesus had a name for Himself, especially with various leadership. He was a threat to many. He still is today. Just as they watched Him over 2000 years ago, they still watch Him today, through us. We are the carriers of His other third (⅓rd), The Holy Spirit and we are supposed to be doing greater exploits than He did while He was here in the flesh. The World is watching us ladies and gentlemen. Especially during this time when there is a weakness running rampant among mankind. “Let’s see if they pray now” they say. “Are they gathering together like they claim to do?” the world says. satan says, “Corona! Kill them off before God even has a chance to put their tears in a bottle.” “Stop them from gathering and let’s see if miracles still take place.” Wow….”stop…them…from…gathering”….

I believe that Jesus, our Big Brother and Savior put this in the bible for us and purposely had me search this out for study on Saturday to let us know that everything is going to be alright. He is telling us not to fear. He was our example. He says to us today, “Just speak the Word.” Quote Him. Quote scripture. Learn it. Get used to it. The Holy Spirit of God will help you. He is waiting for you to call upon him as He said in Jeremiah 33:3. “Call upon me.” Sure, this is a time when our #Faith is being challenged. But we also have to use wisdom. And this may be where I may lose some listeners on Blog Talk Radio or readers on revessie.com so please hang in there with me.

The Bible tells us to obey magistrates (leadership.) This means that we don’t cuss out our Presidents, have coven meetings wishing ill-will over him, (and Leadership around the world), while they are scrambling to make a safe living for us. That is rebellion. 1Sa 15:23  “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee”…   If they are wrong, God is still in control is He not? He will correct them. What we need to be doing is praying either singly or corporately. You can’t serve a God that you don’t talk to.

Tit 3:1  Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

Tit 3:2  To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

Tit 3:3  For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

Tit 3:4  But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

There is so much disrespect anymore for leadership. I may lose some listeners here but I can’t help that because I have to say what God leads me to say. Not only that, He sends people to listen to His Word through me on various platforms from all around the World so, no offense, but as the saying goes, “one monkey won’t stop no show.” Forgive me for my bluntness but some folks just take it too far for me. I don’t like playing games and I am certainly not here to please man. Man has not offered me anything in this life to get me to respect him that much you can bet the farm on that one. Trust me.
I am shocked at how people ‘over-speak’ to our leadership while they are speaking on camera, being already tense about the situation, trying to say what would help calm the people. Bullies don’t want anyone to bully their kids and loved ones but they will get on tv and bully our leadership, trying to make fools of them in public, only making matters worse while tempers rise. It’s disrespectful. I am done with all of the name calling, character assassins, judgmental people who always have depressing things to say. They need to sweep around their own front door before they try to sweep around someone else’s. We are so close if not surpassing Sodom and Gomorrah and that’s a shame.
Ministers of the Church, God has a Word for you right now. Shame on the ministers who let people in their pulpits, choirs, and praise and worship teams who haven’t even repented of their sins yet. Shame on you “all-inclusion” folks who take anybody and everybody who years later are still living in their sins, just to get numbers in your church. Listen, how many do you have now? The government is shutting everyone down because of this virus and telling everyone to distance themselves to stay safe. If you never were allowed to go back to your brick and mortar again, would you let some of those characters from your pulpits into your homes? Would you bring them around your children? *Selah. “Be ye holy for I am holy saith the Lord. Amen. No spot, no wrinkle.
And on the ‘information’ subject. One of America’s problems is that she always wants to know something. We want to know so much that our military secrets probably get out to the enemy before we can secure it! Everyone wants to he the HRIC (head reporter in charge.) Every station is afraid that the other station will get more info than them therefore they drill our leadership with questions that should not even be discussed on camera. We are just like King Hezekiah in 2nd Kings 20:13. Ya want to know too much America! Have you ever heard of TMI? (Too much information?)

2Ki 20:13 And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, (his enemies, – PRIDE steps in,) and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.

2Ki 20:14 Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon.

2Ki 20:15 And he said, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.

2Ki 20:16 And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD.

2Ki 20:17 Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.

Soooo, the enemies got all of his beloved ‘stuff’ that he showed off so badly for. God resists the proud.
Do you know that Doctors don’t tell all that they know about you when you go to see them? There have been reports even in psychology books and magazines where doctors have found that using positivity with patients makes a happier patient and sometimes brings healing. The doctor that I have now is trying to take pills away from me instead of giving me more just for the money. She found that my old doctor had me on 3 separate cholesterol pills, making a mint. She was shocked! She said, “Did you know that (doctors name omitted) had you on 3 separate cholesterol pills?” I was like, “What? I didn’t know.” She said, “Yes! That’s not good.” And she removed 2 from me. I will never forget that. She told me that she is the type of doctor who tries to make a patient ‘smile’ not ‘over-pay.’ I like her. She speaks positive sentences to me and redirects my conversations from doubt to faith and healing. I believe that this is what our leadership is trying to do to us. They are scrambling trying to find health and cure and we are yelling at them! When is the last time that you heard a President tell us to pray to God or thank God for something? It’s been years, I am sure. Ours just did on Saturday, 21 March 2020. Yesterday.
The Centurion, like our leadership now, had spiritual perception. The Jesus kind, the kind that our country was founded upon before the witches got in there and tried to abort Christianity, but they will fail horribly and pay for an eternity if they don’t repent. He knew what Jesus could do. He respected Jesus and believed upon Him, His name, His character. He trusted Jesus. I know that some gorge on things and horde food and all that but do you trust God? Do you trust that He will keep you going like Elijah did the hungry widow? People are hoarding toilet paper and hand sanitizer and selling it for outrageous prices. They are using unjust weights and God will get vengeance on their greed. They are taking advantage of mankind in times of need. That’s of their father, the devil.
When you think of it, this wise Centurion was like Martin Luther, he worked against his Catholic Faith and decided to follow Jesus. When Jesus saw this, (vs 10) He announced to others that there has not been found so great a faith, not even in Israel. (God’s chosen.) A Centurion of another faith believed more than God’s chosen nation. Fathom that. Jesus’ own relatives and neighborhoods didn’t believe the way that they should. And neither do ours. Especially if you are called into ministry. You will have folks jumping out of all of the bushes along your trail telling folks how you “used” to be and not to trust anything that comes out of your mouth. But! When you find that one! When God sends that one and then begins to send others who enjoy your anointing and what you do, NO MAN can stop that. They can try to erase your name out of their history but you are like Prego…..”it’s in there.” (You’re in there!) They tried to erase Jesus from history but at the same time, actually MAKING history by doing what they were actually supposed to do and not even knowing it. Jesus even said that if He told them what was happening they would prevent Him from fulfilling the prophecies of Him dying on the Cross for us.
In verses 11 and 12 Jesus talks about how people from all over the World will sit down with the Saints (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,) in Heaven but those who were intended to be there will not make it and go to Hell, simply put. Outer Darkness. In verse 13 Jesus tells him “as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.” Let me ask you this question: Hows your life? What do you believe? To what degree is your faith in what the Lord has done and will do for you? We are still trying to heal headaches much less a paralyzed man.
Check this out:
{Let’s take a look at the word sick. Let’s dig down deeper in the barrel shall we? The Greek word for it is arroustos, which comes from the word arunnumi. Runnumi means to be well, strong in good health, or to possess a strong physical condition. When an a is place in front of this word, it reverses the condition, and instead the new word mean to be in bad health or to possess a weak and broken condition. The person is considered an invalid. In Matthew 14:14 – arroustos. Invalids. Mark 6:5 – arroustos. Extremely sick people. Mark 6:13 – Very frail and weak in health. These people were not simply feeling poorly but were devastated by sickness. They were critically ill. This is the category of sick people that Jesus said believers would lay hands on, and they would recover. Not headaches and skin abrasions.
See: Mat 13:58  And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
He was talking about believers laying hands on the critically ill and invalids. He healed them! He was our example! Lay hands on and heal! Restore them back to health. In Mark 16:18 you’ll notice that Jesus promises recovery, healing over a period of time. Otherwise, that would be a miracle. All healings do not occur instantaneously. His healing power flows from us to the recipient. Just like medicine, our laying on of hands will reverse  that medical condition and release healing power to them. It will begin to attack the work of the devil and progressively restore that sick person to a state of health and well-being. Healing the sick is part of our responsibility as a believer. We need the Power of the Holy Spirit to do so, so get used to Him. If you allow Him to use you, there will be amazing levels of power and supernatural manifestations! }
(Taken from: “A life Ablaze”, Rick Renner. An excellent book.)
In this case Jesus rewarded the Centurion because of his faith and allowed him to go back and find a healed servant. The Word says that the servant was healed “in the selfsame hour.” That’s “heal” with an “ing” at the end. (It took time but a very short amount of time.) This is also where Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law who had a fever. When evening came, they began to bring the hard-hitters, the ones possessed with devils and Jesus cast them out and also healed all that were sick. He had to fulfill the prophecy that was spoken in Isaiah that says, “Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. Jesus spoke life to people. He still does today. We can too. Fear not, for the Lord thy God is with thee.

Isa 53:4  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

Isa 53:5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

1Pe 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

➢ How’s your speech?Pro 25:11  A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

➸ What are you speaking? Are you casting out devils, infirmities, paralysis? Are you soothing troubled minds around you? We are creators like our Father Creator. What we say comes to life. We speak life or death. Are you casting down evil imaginations that the enemy of your soul sends to you on a daily basis? Or are you accepting what the devil has to say as truth? he lied to Eve and he’ll lie to you too. Who does God say that you are? His! A Healer! Righteousness! The Kings Kid! He’s not going to beg. It’s high time for us to accept that we are Royalty and get it over and done with and walk ye therefore in it.

Pro 18:21  Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

➳ The Word is Jesus on paper. God is not a man that He should lie. When the bible tells us that, it is telling the truth. Truth reigns.

Rev 19:13  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Are you saved? Now is the time to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. With all that is going on around the world, you need a friend. Jesus can be that special friend if you allow Him into your life. He is your helper and His Holy Spirit is your Comforter.

If you are not saved, just repeat the Romans Road after me: Say “Jesus, I repent of my sins, I am so sorry Lord. I believe that you died on the cross and rose 3 days later from the dead, just for me and I accept what you have done, I accept you as my Savior. Thank you Jesus, amen.” Now go find a bible believing, Holy Ghost filled church and learn of Him, it’s never too late. Your new life starts now. All old things are gone away. God throws them as far as the East if from the West. Now….go live, laugh and love!

Thank you for coming on today and I pray that your week goes by Victoriously!
