Heavenly Memo: "Us" not just "Me"

Matthew 6:7-13

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11  Give us this day our daily bread.

12  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

This morning was not one of my best mornings actually but with the Grace of God, I made it through. My stomach was hurting and I could not figure out what my body wanted to do in the bathroom. I was just at a physical standstill. I felt drained which happens to me every now and then.  My doctors claim Fibromyalgia and Diabetes but I refuse to give it a place in my life. Once they name it, you have a pet. Every now and then something hits me and drains my energy, turns my stomach and knocks me sideways. Have you ever have a day like that?

Isaiah 53:5

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Check this out…..

As I am standing in my livingroom, panting and holding my stomach, feeling completely nauseated and tired. I get a knock on my door. You don’t know how badly I wanted to not answer it. I looked out of the peephole and saw a man setting in a wheelchair. I thought to myself, “Whatever it is, Jesus will help me to handle it” and I quickly opened my door. There sat a man from my floor. He is a babydoll and loves the Lord with all of his heart. This is the man that danced at our church meetings down stairs and claps when Lex and I sing. He’s home from his nearly 2 month stay at a hospital and a home for his rehabilitation.

I opened the door and we smiled at one another. I am not used to him being in a wheel chair. He’s a big man and said that he used to be a policemen years ago. He was panting as well and asked me to come to his apartment and help him with a few things. Here we both stood, panting and in pain. I immediately stopped thinking about how badly I was feeling and went into Wonder Woman mode. Power came within me from somewhere and it even seemed that my stomach stopped hurting and the nausea went away. It makes one wonder how the Apostle Paul and his friends still did ministry with bruises on them from getting stones thrown at them and abused. I got immediate energy from God’s Throne. (By the way, thank you Lord.) There are many times folks that we have to put our own wants and needs aside to make sure that someone else has what they need. Jesus did. He did a great job of helping a brother or a sister out didn’t He?

There we were in this man’s apartment, I standing, taking orders from him (which he said nicely) and helping in every way that I could. He needed water(s) from out of his fridge, and a GingerAle as well. He needed his meds from off of the floor, neatly stacked in bags. He wanted his stomach pills in a binocular bag from off of the doorknob in his bedroom along with his other pair of glasses on his pillow. I got those. He wanted a wet rag for his very heated scalp. I got that. He wanted me to put a sheet over his plate glass window so that the morning sun wouldn’t burn him but I was too short to throw the sheet up. At least I tried. He needed a phone because his cell phone ran out of energy and he couldn’t find the plug. I don’t give mine out at all, it’s just a personal policy that I have for safety’s sake so I gave him my extra one that I had. It still had about 250 minutes on it. Just then, he asked me to pray. Awesome. I stood and prayed to our Father above. I prayed not only a prayer of healing but of protection over him and his apartment. These are reasons why I like to say “our” instead of “my”, “me”, or “I.” Jesus’s prayer in the bible was a prayer of inclusion. If you believe in Jesus and that He is the Son of God, then you are part of the “our” and “we.” To say “Our Father” is to admit that Jesus is Lord and you are one of His Son’s siblings. Right after I prayed, this man began to pray and bless me and my daughter and our ministry. Then he began to speak in tongues. It was awesome. He didn’t do it to show off and didn’t take all day. He spoke it briefly and the feeling in the apartment was outstanding. He looked at me and said, “You speak tongues too.”  I said, “Amen.” At that moment we had connected like Christians should. We understood what God was doing. We accepted what God had for us and enjoyed the prayer time.

He still has my phone, I could care less. He called to ask me the number so that his sister could call him. I gave it to him. It was funny to see “Home Phone” show up on my cell. It took me a moment to realize what was happening. I’m slow I guess….lol. God is good. Oh! And by the way….I do feel better and I am slowly gaining my energy back. I think that prayer time between my friend and I energized us. Prayer always works. Thank you Lord. Please keep my neighbor in prayer? God knows his name. God bless and thanks for reading.

Pray for Mel and Barry Patterson

Mel just emailed me and is asking for prayer for her and her husband. She had to put him in a care center because the dementia that is taking over him has drained her immensely. This is hard for her.  She is a loving, caring, sister in Christ and has been with us for years. Please keep her and Barry in prayer. Jesus died for our iniquities and by His stripes we are healed. Let’s not give into illnesses because they ‘seem’ to be a ‘normal’ thing but, let’s bind them instead, send them to dry places and proclaim healing over those that the illnesses tried to take over.

Jesus is coming back soon. I would not want Him to ask why we lost faith in healing. satan would love it but Jesus would not appreciate our lack of healing faith. I bind everything that would try to come up against you and I and ours. I bind everything negative in Jesus mighty name and send them to dry places never to return.
I release peace, joy and good health to you and your households and mine. Keep your eyes open and your chin up. Look for Jesus’ feet to part that Eastern sky. He’s coming y’all. He’s coming for you and I.
Love you,
Rev Esther R. Scott

The Lord is One.

Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.

שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל יְ-הוָה אֱ-לֹהֵינוּ יְ-הוָה אֶחָד
דברים ו:ד

She-MA yis-ra-EL ah-do-NAI eh-lo-HAY-noo ah-do-NAI eh-KHAD

Remember, each Hebrew letter has a number value and each number corresponds to a unique Hebrew word.  The single most important truth in Judaism is the belief in monotheism as attested to in today’s fundamental verse. The word, “One” / אחד adds up to 13: א = 1;  ח = 8; and ד = 4. The number 13 is also the number value of ‘love’ / אהבה since 2א = 1; ה = 5; ב = ה = 5. The hidden message of this is that the greatest love is God’s love for us and at the same time we are also commanded to “Love your neighbor as yourself, I am the Lord” (Lev. 19:18). When we come towards one another in love, God’s presence is felt.
