Heavenly Memo: "Lust, lust and pride".

God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. God’s Word is truth. We must live according to God’s Word in order to have a beautiful and care free afterlife. There are so many deceptions in the world today that can take us off of the path that the Christian, the follower of Christ, should be on. Aren’t you glad that the phrase and belief of “world without end” doesn’t include the three deceptions in the above scripture? They will soon end and God will re-create things the way that He intended, without corruption, without evil, and without chaos. The bible tells us of the New City, a new Heaven and a new Earth. God is soon to introduce a new system…His Order….not the New World Order. 

2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.  Rev 14:3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.  Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Lust of the eyes……We are told not to love anything that the world has to offer. In a generation of entertainment, we can fall for the “shiny things” of life and be misled so easily. satan is the Prince of entertainment for he himself was made beautifully at one time that even included pipes within his chest. (Ezekiel 28:13  Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Take out time(s) of each day to enquire of the Lord, asking Him to keep you from temptation as the Lord showed us in His sample prayer. “Our Father Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name”……

Lust is destroying men, families and homes. We cry “More! More! More!” and are satisfied less and less. Soft drinks went from 6 ounces, to 8 ounces to 12 ounces to 24 ounces to 32 ounces yet, we are still thirsty. Jesus gave us a fountain of which we will never thirst again. We are to be content with what God has given us. Most men are not. They look for better looking spouses, male and female. We look for better and bigger houses, jobs and cars. As a man thinks in his heart….so is he. We are to be Kingdom minded, not Worldly minded. Don’t look for your final blessings here. satan will not give it to you. he is the prince of the power of the air in this world. There are so many people putting their jobs ahead of God. Again, another idol. They say, “I’d go to church if I didn’t have soooo many things to do.” They find excuses to keep them from hearing the Word. They use repetition as their excuse. “I’m tired of hearing that. Show me something new!”  Here’s something new….Jesus! Hear His Word until His return. He changes not. His Word changes not. He even warned us of being sign-seekers in Mark 8:12, Luke 11:29, 1 Cor 1:22 and Matthew 16:4……A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. Jesus calls sign-seekers “wicked” and “adulterous”. To commit adultery, you must cheat on your spouse. Are we cheating on our Husband and Maker? Are we not the Bride of Christ? Who else do we need? It is like the woman telling her husband, “Prove to me that you love me!” Jesus dying on the Cross is proof enough. There is no Greater Love.

Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. We are to strengthen our spirits with prayer, praise and worship. 

Phillipians 4:11, 1 Tim 6:8, Hebrews 13:5  

1 Timothy 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Lust of the flesh. 666. (Flesh was made on the 6th day.) We are now living with what I like to call “Flesh to the third power and then some”. satan has many blinded to the fact that God covered Adam and Woman for their sins. Not only did He cover them with His promises of a Savior but they were initially covered with the skin of an animal. Yes, they were covered by the Blood even in the Garden. There is so much revealing of the flesh today that you cannot watch a good program on television without seeing someone’s flesh in some manner. The world is attempting to prep us for a spirirtual downfall. That way, we would be easy to overtake. It is getting harder and harder to watch a good movie with your children. My children once turned the channel on a movie because it was hard for them to watch it with me. We three felt uncomfortable attempting to watch it. We felt the same feeling at the same time.  There are no boundaries or limits today. Humans are pushing the envelope. We need to be covered with God’s Word in order to keep our hearts pure.  Matthew Henry commentary says: “The scarlet cord, like the blood upon the doorpost at the Passover, recalls to remembrance the sinner’s security under the atoning blood of Christ; and that we are to flee thereto for refuge from the wrath of a justly offended God. The same cord Rahab used for the saving of these Israelites, was to be used for her own safety. What we serve and honor God with, we may expect he will bless, and make useful to us.”

The pride of life…..Man is researching and succeeding in making a way for humans to live longer and longer. He no longer wants to die but doesn’t want to accept Jesus as the Way, the Truth and the Life in order that he may live. Some love this life. He has that “Look what we’ve done” attitude. They are attempting to find ways to get around God and His commandments and statutes. Researchers today have that “we can do it without You” syndrome.  (And they built the tower higher and higher refusing to stay small in their own eyes.) Like the Tower of Babel, must we be knocked down again?  According to the World’s point of view, everyone should have an idol in their lives in some way. Entertainment idols, sports idols, and even religious idols. 1st John 2:17 tells us that the world passes away and the lust thereof, but he that does the will of God abides forever. Man makes idols and expects them to live up to their expectations. People sell their souls to be bought.  When the idol doesn’t do what man thinks he/she should be doing, they discard them like an old pair of shoes because they are no longer “pleasing” them. We see it happening every day on the news and various media venues. One day, you are up on top of “the World” and if you don’t do what is expected of you, a rumor hits the media and your name is trashed, you lose your worldly goods, and you can’t get a job in a pizza joint. I am so glad that Jesus bought and paid for us, aren’t you? He requires nothing but obedience and faith. Jesus’s requirements are much easier.

Do the will of God, even if your flesh screams for what the world has which is nothing but a false sense of freedom. Fight the good fight of faith. It is very doable.  God bless and have a great day.
