Rev. Esther Rochelle Scott

Rev. Esther R. Scott is the mother of two children, Alexi Scott her daughter and Ja’red Scott her son. Rev. Scott has been in the ministry since 1988 and was under Rev. Walter Cherry who pastured the First Church of God in Houston, Pa. After Rev. Cherry was called home, Rev. Scott then took over as Pastor in 1999, opening the church as “New Birth Church” after graduating from Shiloh Bible Institute on Griffith Avenue in Washington, Pa. under Rev.(s) Edward and Janet Popovich. Some years later the church flooded twice and was not fit for further use and therefore had to be closed. After the closing of New Birth Church, Rev. Scott then was asked by Rev. Lance B. Whitlock to minister at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Canonsburg, Pa. where she sat in the pulpit and preached and sang on the 8 a.m. radio services at WJPA. She has also preached and taught at the Washington City Mission and sang for them at their Sweet Sunday program every year for 6 years. Rev. Scott was asked to open the Canonsburg 4th of July Parades, the Houston Pumpkin Festival, and taught bible studies at various Elderly Complexes in the area. She was featured in the Observer-Reporter newspaper in Washington, Pa. for being a dedicated online minister of the gospel for the internet, and given a chance to write sermonettes for the newspaper as well, which to this day, she writes on certain Fridays. Rev. Scott has also presided over several weddings and funerals around the area and is known in the Washington County area to live the life that she preaches.
Not only is Rev. Scott a warrior for the Lord but she also has an honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps for serving during the Lebanon-Granada era, making her a Veteran as well.
